Background

Michael's awakening was, as these things tend to be, brutal and bloody. Attacked by a feral ghoul, the explosive outpouring of magic was the only thing that kept him alive. Mostly. Cursed to wonder as a wretched, twisted creature, James clings on to his faith, the only thing he has left to cling on to. Jean Baptiste picked him up shortly after, the ghoul having been one of the cabal's.

Alive but with no job prospects and an easy in to the shadowy underworld, Michael has no qualms about killing for food, or money, as he is needed to.
