Faction Information
The Commisso’s main rival in Toronto is Adrian Violi. Violi’s specialties are white-collar crimes, particularly involving the construction industry and labor unions, and smuggling across the UCAS-Quebec border. His power centre is actually in Hamilton, just south of the Toronto sprawl, but Violi moved into Toronto proper when he seized the opportunity granted by Commisso’s bad decisions. Violi made a non-aggression deal with the Rossi Family in Montreal, offering to throw his lot in with them in exchange for sharing power after the conflict was over, then proceeded to steal control of the Mafia’s protection rackets in Toronto proper, including Little Italy.
The only reason Violi was able to pull that off was because one of his cousins is an up-and-coming soldato in Buffalo, which gives Violi his own (indirect) links to the Five Families in New York. He used those to spin the conflict between Commisso and Rossi as a 'North American independence' thing because of Commisso’s loyalty to the ’Ndrangheta leadership in the old country, even though the Siderno Group has been active in Toronto for over a century.

Background
The Violi crime family, also known as the Luppino-Violi crime family, is a 'Ndrangheta organized crime family based and founded in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in the 1950s by Giacomo Luppino. The Luppino family was one of three centralized Mafia organizations in Hamilton, with the other two being the Musitano crime family and the Papalia crime family. By 2018, the Violis had an increased role in the organization, particularly Domenico and Giuseppe Violi, the sons of Montreal mob boss Paolo Violi who had married into the Luppino family through Giacomo's daughter. Domenico had reportedly been made the underboss of the Buffalo crime family and one of his duties was to "assume control over the operations of the Luppino-Violi crime family". Since then the Violis have had strong connections with the Magaddino crime family of Buffalo, New York. By the 2050's the Musitano and Papalia Mafia families had married into the Violi family.
