Character Information

Summary

An ex-private security rigger who specializes in mentally jumping into her vehicles and drones - partly due to her preference for acting in VR, but mostly because she can't really use her legs. Also highly skilled in engineering skills and solving mathematical problems and issues and applying mathematics to issues they might help solve on a Run.

Goals

Get use of her legs back. Get back at Renraku for stealing her Tech ideas and ultimately causing the Private Security Firm she was part of to dissolve due to loss of life and resources.... Plus they made her paraplegic.

Background

Mekkanyx grew up to German immigrants who had moved to Seattle right after she was born. From an early age, she was extremely interested in all things mathematic, mechanical, and technological. Breaking things down and putting them back together was a hobby, and eventually, this hobby expanded into modifying tech and creating new items altogether. She was considered something of a prodigy and was quickly admitted to Technical School when she was old enough to attend and graduated with top marks a few years later.

Shortly after graduation, Mekkanyx joined a Private Security Firm that specialized in assisting particularly oppressed groups or the helpless to live their daily lives without as much fear or trouble, but they also occasionally did supply runs for corporations or independent vendors. One such Supply Run was attacked by a unit of Renraku soldiers because the Megacorporation suspected the goods were stolen Renraku tech and weapons, but were actually entirely unrelated medicines and survival supplies - a fact only found out after Mekkanyx and her Firm were decimated not only in the caravan, but also at the office. Of course, Renraku would never admit that they were wrong, and Mekkanyx has had a developing vendetta against them ever since. The attack caused the loss of the feeling in her legs, and she's been confined to a wheelchair for the past year. Being unable to really go anywhere in the flesh just gave Mekkanyx a greater excuse to refine her skills as an Engineer and Technician and ultimately a Rigger for the Shadows.
