Summary

A little too much enjoyment of their job caused a Firewatch borg to lose a few too many bodies.

Their pending termination made them panic, reaching out only to find an unlikely AI out.

Now they're in a custom catbod, and weird problems will surely arise.

Background

Vat grown in an Ares Weapons Development facility, Cannonade was the name model of the Autonomous Specialist Superheavy Weapons Platform: Cannonade, denoting her as Cannonade-001. Even with this as the case, this was largely due to her model being deemed most viable from an early stage compared to her 'siblings,' many of whom were months if not a year older than her at the time of designation.

Ultimately, after many rejections and maladaptations, only five Cannonades remained. It was not a complete failure, but less than ideal. Their development was to be a useful tool in FireWatch deployments world wide, touted as some of the most powerful autonomous drones on the battlefield.

001 was prone to excitement.

This would result in the destruction of three of her weapons platform bodies, and have her slated for termination. Thankfully, before things were too late, 001 jumped ship into an anthrodrone body, evading capture just long enough for Angela to help her with a true out. Even then, it'd take a few months and quite a few wheel-woman gigs to get things on the level. Made more difficult by the anthrodrones Angela would help provide getting obliterated in various means of chicanery.

Now? Now Cannonade, first of her name, is a cat. And she's become a fangirl of another local runner.
