Overview

UCAS Army Colonel Joseph Hodges, a native of the US Virgin Islands, was named Adjutant-General of the islands in 2057 during the Virgin Affair. Ordered by the White House to impose martial law, it was the Adjutant-General's doomed task to hold the last remaining UCAS Oversees Territory for as long as possible in the face of both a local revolution and a Caribbean League blockade. The UCAS government struggled to create an agreement to allow for the safe passage from port of the Biden, an Ernest J. King-class supercarrier trapped at the UCAS naval base at St. Croix. Ultimately all efforts failed, the Biden was scuttled, and 312 civilians who swarmed the naval base were killed or wounded during the final withdrawal. Blamed for the failure and hated both on the islands and back in the UCAS, Joseph Hodges languished in obscurity in the Caribbean League. At least, until a KSAF reporter came knocking about a certain Sergeant Major Hemmingway that served under his command during the Virgin Affair...

Aspects Description

Aspect Description
So Terribly Lonely Joseph Hodge has lost his family to time, his friends to his reputation, and his reputation to misfortune. It is not possible to conduct business quickly with him. He wants to talk, to hear how you are doing, how the weather is where you are at, and so on. Every call for information or networking takes twice as long, as does any request to acquire gear.
Long in the Tooth Joseph Hodge has been around for a long, long time. He's seen a lot and knows a lot. He may be old but he is still sharp as ever. (+2 to all skill checks involving information from 5+ years ago)
Proud Veteran His career may have ended in disgrace but he still holds, however tenuously, to the ideals that guided his life. He walks his talk, and those like him value that in him. (+2 to all skill checks involving soldiers, militaries, or mercenary companies)
Served With Distinction Joseph Hodge fought overseas...and he remembers much. (+2 to all skill checks involving the history, geography, or politics outside of North America)
Islander at Heart Joseph Hodge will always love the Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean at large. Seattle may be his home and indeed, his grave, but his heart will always be back home. (+2 to all skill checks involving the Caribbean League)
Grateful for the Green TerraFirst! took him in and gave him a safe respite. Now he's doing what he can to learn how to best help the planet and, despite his age, he's a vigorous learner. (+2 to all checks involving environmentalism and ecoterrorism)
