Colonel Berger is an agent of the DGSE and was the overseeing officer of the Task-Force November 51. Since the unit has became rogue his position in the agency has been contested and he is going around to find a way to hurt the unit. He has a grudge to settle and don't want any public trial for this old burden of him, many action of the Task-Force could be seen as a stain in his own reputation if revealed. He's only goal is to make sure that the N-51 is destroyed. He count on his knowledge of the unit and the ressource of the DGSE that he got at hand to pursue his objective. In the light of the recent event he is closely working with Saedder Krupp as they are the one that has the more information about the N-51 actually.

Being a pretty cunning individual he did get away when some official had to pay for the failure of previous government. But is pride was damaged as some mens under his command did turn rogue, which wasn't much of a deal until the N-51 started to act against Aztechnology and Dassaut. The rumors of Noble in Exiles in North America quickly gave reason for Berger to take back his old position in the DGSE.


He will offer an access to his network to Runners that work with him, but will nearly always ask for favors in exchange. The sole reason he work with runners is that he know that the N-51 has tie with some.
Berger has two task in North America right now :

-Dismantle the N-51, arrest the Officers and make sure they have a trial to wash some dirt.


He is a professional, and will usely follow the etiquette of regular Johnson when working with runners. Thought bear in mind that this contact only look for personnal interest, he will not hesitate a split second to burn the runners if he can win something out of it.

Service Action Colonel Berger know a lot about local mercenary group and PMC that can help for covert operation or could be linked to one. +2 to knowledge or networking implying such groups.
Bureau des Légendes "Légende" is a term in the French Espionnage to speak about fake identities, due to his work, Colonel Berger can offer some really good one. +2 for Fake SIN acquisition.
North American Network Colonel Berger can gather a lot of information here and there as long as it's link to North America, he might have people in corps or government that can send information to him. +2 to Knowledge about corps and government in the North American sector.
West Coast Focus Most of Colonel Berger effort is on the West coast of North America as it's where the N-51 was located lately (But mainly because Seattle is a mine of information). As such not only he has more spies there but also he has some in more diverse place. +2 to Knowledge about corps and government on the west coast (that stack with previous aspect) but it also work for gangs & criminal syndicate.
Pot-de-Vin In exchange of a favor, Colonel Berger can try to bribe official to get specific authorisation for a short amount of time. This would take time and cost a bit of money and in addition will always cost a chip. (GM appreciation about what the Colonel can get)
Fade to Black Colonel Berger has a wide network of safehouse and place to hide. He doesn't sell them cheap thought. +2 a safehouse in the area where is network is active but it will cost double the price of the regular service.
Black Market Connection Colonel Berger can help anyone get a bit of equipement especially the one sold on Black Market. +2 to gear acquisition for Forbidden Item.
Espion à Domicile Need to spy on someone ? Well in exchange of a chip Berger can send some of his men to do the job. (It may include a wide array of service from watching comlink and all to actual burglary to plant microphone and so on.)
French Megacorporation Politics Colonel Berger has a lot more to offer on Megacorporation that work closely with France (or are close to it.) +2 on Knowledge for any information about Aztechnology or Saedder Krupp.
Chantage Colonel Berger could find Blackmail information for runners to use about specific person from the place where he got spies active.
Tools of the Trade Colonel Berger can help gather many high quality gear for spy operation. (B&E, cyberdeck and so on.) +2 for Spy related gear and Cyberdeck !
