Victor "Vic" Reyes serves as a Knight-Errant gang crime detective. When he first joined the force, Vic was driven by a burning idealism—a desire to deliver justice and shield the disenfranchised from the chaos of gang violence. However, it didn’t take long for reality to erode his principles. He realized that his job wasn’t about protecting people but about safeguarding the wealth and property of Seattle’s elite, leaving the sprawl and its inhabitants to fend for themselves.


Relationship with Yang:
Disillusioned but unwilling to give up entirely, Vic adopted a more pragmatic approach. He now works in the gray areas of the law, leveraging his position to combat gang influence in unconventional ways. For the "right kind of criminal," he’s willing to trade intel on Seattle’s gangs in exchange for actions or information that destabilize their operations. Vic may no longer see himself as a hero, but he’s determined to make whatever impact he can—even if it means bending the rules.
None of his clients know that he was previously a getaway driver for hire. Yang frequently hired his services however in an op gone bad, Mike crashed his vehicle during a pursuit, knocking himself out in the process. Rather than leaving him to be hauled away be Knight Errant, Yang dragged him out of the wreckage and got him to a safe house. When Mike woke up he was devastated at the loss of his vehicle, as it was the only means of supporting his family. Yang, using Wuxing's considerable Op expense budget, set him up with a new car as well as putting him in touch with the contacts necessary for him to start his business. Since then, Mike has been a loyal friend to Yang.

Vic, a husband and father, is a regular at Tickler's—a downtown strip club that doubles as one of Backseat's favored spots for both entertainment and gathering kompromat on potential contacts. Their relationship began under less-than-ideal circumstances, with Backseat leveraging compromising information to blackmail Vic for critical intel needed for a job.
 
However, it didn’t take long for Vic to recognize that the information he shared about street gangs often produced outcomes that benefited not just himself but also his superiors. As a result, their dynamic evolved from one of coercion to a mutually beneficial partnership. Now, Vic provides gang-related intel willingly, knowing that Backseat’s interventions help disrupt criminal activity while giving him plausible deniability to claim success within Knight-Errant.
