Background

Ophelia is the daughter of Kenneth and Marco, an Horizon middle management executive and a former child actor turned adult civil engineer. Perhaps atypically in this line of work, her dads are both alive, doing well and still love her very, very dearly. From the medical complications after her SURGE, that left her body weak and her muscles in a state of permanent hypotrophy, to her early emerging, to her gender transition, they remained by her side, trying to help her ease into the admittedly quite complicated adult life she was getting ready to face.

A super early bloomer, perhaps due to her emerged status, Ophelia very quickly developed a taste for art, more specifically painting and performance art, getting through all her education with abysmal scores as she used most of her time to draw instead of actually studying, and despite her young age, actually managed to get a name going in certain high society circles, where bored rich people commissioned her works, some as genuine fans of her bold and often cyptic style, while others much more cynically planned to buy the early works of someone whom could later in life becoming an established artist, and make the value of those canvases sky rocket. Still, most of them were obvious to her talent in everything matrix, and so she started extracting data, hacking smart home systems, so on and so forth. Really, at first it was for fun, or expression. Perhaps both. But it quickly became lucrable.

At first, it was just corporate espionage, selling blueprints of items she didn't realize to firms she didn't know existed, but it quickly devolved in digging blackmailable material, or even forging it. When her parents found out, they scolded her, both because they disapproved what was by all means a crime, but also because Kenneth was well aware of what happened to those that made a false step while stealing from the big hitters, and didn't want that fate to befall his daughter.

Now though, she is an adult, and left her small hometown for Seattle, to study at the prestigious, Horizon sponsored university. Visual arts, to be exact. And left alone in her dorm room, away from the judging eyes of her dads, she decided to get back in business, hoping she will manage to stay small, and not get in trouble

Narrative Significant Qualities

• Sheltered Upbringing - In a world of injustice, priviledge can feel like a guilt. Nevertheless, there are undeniable perks in being raised in safety and wealth
  1. Common Sense - A labyrinthine etiquette with severe punishments for faux-pas instills a very keen sense of constant self analysis and awareness of your surroundings, extremely transferable skills
  2. History Is Not As Certain As We Are Taught - In places that aren't built, meet groups that have no names, to discuss magic that doesn't exist. Those places have a certain proximity to the Tir high society...
  3. Favored (Biased, Elves) - Look at what the Tir built from nothing, and look how the UCAS squandered the American Empire, and tell me there isn't a spark of brilliance in Elvenkind
  4. Creture of Comfort: Middle - Let it be known, accepting middle accomodations is already a huge compromise and concession

  2. Deck Builder - It's well known that they always put some limiters in commercial cyberdecks. Luckily, it doesn't take a genius to bypass them
  3. Instinctive Hack - Dae meleg. Experience looseness. Be quick but relaxed, works in the flesh, works in the matrix
  4. Insomnia - You don't get in the shadows without slitting a few throats, and you don't get to move on without your sleep suffering the price
