Summary

In an effort to test the Haven's members in what should be a relatively light but complex problem involving a burgeoning tech corporation, Kruger sends one of his associates to give a job offer to a number of havenites to steal data, further his own interests, and see if he can't make something of this place after all.

Background

Davidson's Technologies is a small time AA tech corporation who have only really started to come into the limelight thanks to the efforts of their newest head of R&D, and his penchant for illicit dealings alongside making legally distinct off-brands of the tech from other major corporations that they sell through said illicit channels. They mostly focused on the works of drones and other vehicle parts, improving on some while straight up ripping off others for their profit margins.

Kruger is a man who likes to keep an eye on anyone and everyone who comes into his spider web. This includes Davidson's co-founders and the new R&D head Jason Ford, but also just as importantly any business dealings they had should be reported on and either used as leverage to gain a cut of the proceeds, strongarm them into handing over their data, or simply used to sink them. Whatever is most prudent. Now, Kruger has his own men for such...dealings, but a little birdie had been talking about potential assets and worries in the Shadowhaven, and out of curiosity Kruger decided to give them...a little test run to see if they were worthy.

The Meet

Kruger sent his agent Alisa Reid out to contact the four shadowrunners, and after getting in touch with a number of fixers she landed on four: Obsidian, Huntress, Ardent, and Ninkasi. A team focused on stealth and decent enough combat capabilities with a primary focus on social and matrix infiltration. Perfect for sabotage. The meeting was simple enough, at a nice little café downtown. She set down a little white noise generator and gave them the proposition: initial research into the matrix defenses led 'her client' into believing that the data they wanted was in a data vault of some kind. Sensitive information in an air-gapped storage device off their host and the matrix as a whole to keep people from robbing them of their secrets so easily. The runners were tasked with finding the files and taking all the data for the Johnson. For the job, they'd receive 14k per person. The three socialites decided "...no that isn't enough" and eventually managed to bargain for some bioware as well on the side if they could get a one week deadline job down in just 3 days. With that little test set, Alisa made her exit and left the group to their devices.

The Plan

There was quite a research to be done on the matter. Beyond an address they hadn't received much, so the team sent Ninkasi to do searching on the matrix while preparing disguises and moving out for physically scoping out the place. Ninkasi found a number of connections, information on the co-founders Mr. Davidson and Madeline Lorelei, along with Jason Ford. They also got word from Ninkasi on the security team hired out for the buildings defense: one Piero's Defense, whom Huntress recognized as being some veterans from the Brush Wars down south who are skilled but not quite so well funded for a fresh PMC of scattered, lost souls. Physical scouting showed exact routes for how the defenses worked, probing astrally and on the matrix revealed more on the floor plans and the inner workings of the building, and the group ultimately decided to do the following plan:
