Summary

A small group of runners are sent to collect a stolen package and kill the troll that stole it.

Background

The Golden Hind, a pirate of sorts, was stolen from. An individual from the infamous Troll-only gang, The Spikes, named Kelvin Salvadar broke into her car and took a black box carrying something for one of her clients. She wants it back. She also wants Kelvin dead, and his body brought to her.

The Meet

The runners arrive and begin discussing with the Johnson about the details of the mission, learning of the direction Kelvin was headed in as well as making educated guesses into who the individual could be. Ace is able to come to the conclusion it must be a Spike, a biker gang of Trolls and Trolls alone, typically hanging around the Fort Lewis/Puyallup/Tacoma border area. They notoriously despise elves, engaging in slaughtering elves and turning their ears into trophies. Mojo Joe uses one of his connections, a contact named Orianna Cazador, to locate where he was headed. She is able to quickly and easily find where, but demands payment of roughly 10% the cost of the job. Dice, hearing this, attempts to haggle it down by going on a dinner date with Orianna. She accepts the date, but doesn't budge on the payment.

The information given is that of a ramen store in Tacoma, where underneath the facade lies a black market operation. Heading down to the shop, the group decides their course of action.

The Plan

The plan was to infiltrate as common goers, while attempting to discover where the box was hidden. After that, they'd subtly manage to take it with (hopefully) minimal combat - preferably none - and return the box. Then they'd go about tracking Kelvin without worry of a time frame and eliminate him.

The Run

At the ramen shop, the gang all heads inside. Mojo Joe is able to sense a high level ward at the front, leaving him to keep his own spirit on standby for the time being. Inside, Noble asks for a bowl of ramen, which also manages to serve as the fee to receive a data chip. Slotting it, he's able to see on the MATRIX an amount of personas that are engaged in a bidding war for a series of boxes. Two boxes stick out as possible targets. One displayed as "hot goods" for 6k nuyen and the other as "unknown" for 1.4mil nuyen. On meatspace, sensors are able to realizing the floor beneath the kitchen is hollow. Likely this would be where the boxes are stored. Noble stands up and approaches one of the other patrons, who immediately calls him a number of elven slurs, prompting a series of further insults between the two before he is stabbed. The other patrons of the store watch in amusement, giving ample time as a distraction.

During the midst, Ace and one of Getaway's flyspies head outside and are able to scout a couple of manholes in the back alley for a tunnel leading to the underground storage center, where they find the two boxes and a number more. Deciding to just do their job they inform the others and travel down a further series of tunnels to try finding another way to leave without being detected by cameras. A way is able to be found on the other side of a gated door, leading to a garage roughly a block away. Bringing the Roadmaster to the garage, Getaway rams the garage door while Ace primes explosives to open up the path further. Quickly they're able to load up both black boxes and make their way out with no trouble from the black market operators.

However, their actions would not go unnoticed. Mojo Joe's spirit was attacked and killed in a singular blow during the events above, and soon after getting onto the road a woman would leap from up high to strike into the Roadmaster. Getaway parked the vehicle, lamenting about the damages it has sustained, as Mojo Joe announces who the woman is. Crescent-Slash, the Baobhan Sith and agent of Charon. She states that the party has stolen a box from her, and that they must give it back. After careful discussion, the group is able to discern that she speaks of the box listed as "unknown", and that the items inside - dragon scales - are not meant for their client. Handing it over, she departs swiftly, allowing them to pass unimpeded and turn in the box. Now for Kelvin.

The next day, giving time for repairs and preparation, the group is able to find Kelvin at an old, abandoned Fort Lewis outpost. Having a flyspy scout the area out, they're able to find members of the Spikes inside, and after judging the prospect too risky for a frontal assault decide instead to bait their target. Sending taunting photos of Dice and Noble dressed as Ancients, a gang of elves, they're able to successfully bait out Kelvin and three of his allies to a relatively empty area.

Setting down an ambush, the group is able to rather easily eliminate all the Spikes including Kelvin, and from there they collect and return his body to The Golden Hind. Job well done.

Aftermath

With the run complete, the party converses among themselves, Mojo Joe warning Dice of involving herself with Orianna and dragons, while Getaway instead asks for details on how the date goes. Ace and Noble are lauded as the only relatively sane members of the team in Mojo's mind, and soon enough the group disbands back to their corners of Seattle.
