For two days, a warehouse fire in Redmond transitioned from a raging inferno to a gentle smolder, finally dying off in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Throughout the early evening, fire fighters and KE officers waded through the wreckage recovering several bodies and assessing the cause of the fire. Many anonymous sources in the area spoke of a small ghoul emerging from the blaze, and these details were confirmed when a commlink was found. Though damaged beyond repair, a data chip was successfully extracted by KE’s Redmond-based forensics team. The chip was heavily damaged, but matrix experts recovered several seconds of a video file showing a gnomish suspect named Marcus Wells setting fire to the building. KE did not respond to our requests for possible motives, but the warehouse was identified as a storage facility that prepared commlinks for recycling. The building was owned by a subsidiary of MCT. Wells is a known felon who spent 15 years behind bars selling stolen cyberware in Chicago. Witnesses saw the ghoul apprehended from his apartment in Loveland on the evening of August 7th by a KE swat team. |
