Player Comfort
- I will respect player boundaries at all time and expect my boundaries to be respected. As members of ShadowHaven, we will utilize the traffic light and X-card systems at all times.
- I will always use preferred pronouns for players and for characters unless I make a mistake. Please do not hesitate to correct me, because your comfort is absolutely more important than game pacing.
- Any story elements thought to be triggering will preemptively come in the form of roll, then fade to black. If and only if you feel comfortable, please talk to me about any uncommon or strong triggers you may have so that I can be mindful of your limits.
- I curse quite a bit normally; if that makes you uncomfortable, PM me before we start and I will do my best to limit profanity.
Choosing Runners
I ask that each player limit their submissions to the two characters that would most directly want to take a job offer.
While I often approach black trench coat ideas from a more pink mohawk style, I am--at my core--someone who values the themes of a character and a story more than the mechanical aspects. As a direct corollary, I traditionally avoid overtuned characters and characters that I believe abuse mechanical loopholes in my picks. I am also more likely to impose the thematic negatives to player characters when those are appropriate to the story or environment.
This is not in an attempt to bully players who choose strong archetypes, but rather address those archetypes and player stories with the gravity that they deserve.
Pacing
I keep my table moving. If a player is spending far too long deciding on an action in a combat round, I reserve the right to presume they delay their action. I will do this only to increase the fun of the table.
The team may take as much time to plan as they need. I will intervene if players need support in progressing the story. While it's fun to solve a puzzle, feeling hopelessly lost is anti-fun. I also reserve the right to redirect players when they are sufficiently off track out of character.
Player Choice
I encourage creative problem-solving on my table. You do not need to solve run the way I intended it for you to be successful, and I am comfortable navigating a story without a map when players make novel choices that lead them off the original story path. To that end, see the section on Thwart / Derail as well!
Declining at Meet
If you are likely to decline and not want to thwart the mission, please ping me on Discord or label yourself as "tentative". It will give me the opportunity to ensure the possibility of success whether your character accepts or declines.
Thwarting a Job
If your character is likely to actively work against Ms / Mr. Johnson, please label your signup as "POSSIBLE / LIKELY SABOTAGE" so that I can plan appropriately. This will not discourage me from taking you! I would always prefer players actively attempt to thwart a mission than just leave the table; let's make that RP magic work one way or another! If players decline the meet, I'd prefer to transition the team to a thwart mission unless a player is in a Yellow+ card scenario.
I prefer all players actively working to complete the mission or thwart the mission. There are enough dangers in the shadows without fearing your allies as well.
Seriousness Level
I like to approach serious content in a way that is often lighthearted. I enjoy novel solutions, character personality, and humor.

Commissioning Blueprints
I'd be happy to build you blueprints for your run! Generally, blueprints will run normally 1GMP per floor for traditional blueprinting, but may cost more for larger facilities.
Additionally, you can add:
- Furnishings [1GMP]
- Vents and sensors [1GMP]
- Text-based logo for your business (if applicable) [1GMP]
- Graphics-based logo for your business [2GMP]
- Additional proof / editing phase [1GMP]
If you'd like other features, please let me know! I will generally subtract 1GMP from the cost (minimum one) if you allow me to include it in the files for other GMs to use!
Contact me on discord with your requests and timeline! I love being helpful if I have time!
