Summary

The runners were individually contacted by their contacts to help sort out what appeared at first to be a double cross.

Background

In the midst of an argument amongst 4 unhappy contacts who had set up a failed trade deal, the runners were called as backup as things degenerated towards open violence.

The Meet

The runners arrived to a shouting argument, and through adroit logical arguments towards their contacts managed to calm the situation remarkably quickly. They discovered, once the name calling ended, that not one but two separate smuggling vehicles had gone dark and no contact, just minutes away from meeting at the agreed rendezvous point.

The Plan

Get eyes on the spot in the middle, see what can be seen, react as appropriate.

The Run

Nullstack blasted away as scout, while the rest followed in a roadmaster. A guarding rotodrone was taken over, and the runners met on the ground at an abandoned strip mall in short order, finding the location was under the effect of an area jammer. There followed a firefight with simultaneous hacking, rigging, and flanking maneuvers that rapidly laid waste to the opposition before any harm could befall the original smugglers held hostage for leverage or ransom, all while using non-lethal techniques.

Aftermath

All goods recovered, hostages recovered beaten but alive, and even the enemy was returned for a bounty - although they were handed over to the smuggling contacts for an equivalent price to interrogate as to where the hole in their operation had been.

Rewards

(11) RVP base, separated into:

8k gear or 4k cash (2)

8 +2 cdp (4)

5 karma (5)

one chip paid or given from contact (run focus)

extra (2) rvp - bounty arranged on living/captured baddies to be value added to any of the above
