Summary

The Ork EO's are missing their Ordinance. The party nabs some out from under the Ancients' noses, to help restore their explosive personality.

Background

A brain-damaged magician lost what few sanity checks he had, and ran off with a bunch of his gang's people and guns. Their firepower wounded, the Ork EO's sent out the call for someone to help them grab more - about as unsubtly as they do anything at all. A few fixers threw the job at whoever happened to be on hand just to get them to shut up.

The Meet

The Ork EO's CEO laid out the situation pretty simply. They knew what they wanted and about where it was. The runners were around for muscle, more than anything. Grab those guns and get them into trog hands where they can be properly used, before the Ancients can sell them off to local gangs. Negotiations were short, mostly working out a share of picks from the weapons & ammo pile once it got in if anyone was interested in it.

The Plan

Insight took a day to set up her ritual computing array and pull a thorough set of info from the Matrix on what they could expect from the site. Meanwhile, Ellis, Gambit, and Setter all went out on foot to canvas some of the gangs who undoubtedly would chafe at having the Ancients muscling around their turf. A round of flyspying later, and Setter providing ¥500 of funding for a protection group to host a block party, and they have a strategy.

The Run

On the second day, the party Setter suggested and paid for goes off without a hitch. A third of the Ancients involved in guarding and dealing break off to keep an eye on things just in case. Another pair goes off on the orders of the leader to backup one of their men in a tense situation.. according to messages hacked by Insight.

Down half of their people in total, with only three left to guard the shipment itself, Gambit moved the on-site runners in. Ellis took the lead and snuck in, unsecuring the crates of materiel and disabling a forklift's signals. Then, she went on to drive that forklift, and use it to load the boxes into Gambit's van.

Unfortunately, Ellis was not forklift certified. She crashed it into the boxes by mistake and alerted the guards. Acting fast, she and Setter quickly neutralized them (other than one who surrendered). The crates were loaded with hands and effort, and the two jumped in the van for Gambit to take off.

A set of five Ancients bikers arrived and kept pursuit despite Gambit's best efforts. Fire from Ellis and Setter each knocked one out of the race. Insight, who had predicted this happening, used hacks planted in advance to drive two more off the road - and a third as collateral.

Aftermath

With the guns secured and pursuit shaken, the group scurried away one case of ammo for extra pay to their cooperative street gang, then delivered the rest to the Ork EO's. They're simple men: they see guns and ammo, they like. With gratitude paid in the form of funds and assets, the runners went their separate ways once more, leaving a group of Ancients alive with bruised bodies and bruised pride.

Gambit Got to love it when a plan comes together. Got of to slow start, but managed to squeeze the J for some of the guns were were getting for him. Excellent group of runners I must thank Ezekiel for the hook ups. It was like carnival game line them up and knock them down. But Oh how do I owe Insight a couple of drinks, not quite sure how she was able to mess with the ancients aim, but some how my wheels managed to get out without a scratch on her.
