Summary
The Fae and on-the-run agent of the courts, Loputyn has been hiding out in Seattle. Since new agents have moved into town, her business, Talismonger, talismans, talismongering, please shop here, buy now, going out of business! has been under scrutiny, and her actions have brought on the ire from others. As such, when she gets disapeared, there are those looking for her that would rather she stay in place, right where she was. So, Kon Kon Calls calls in runners to save Loputyn's hide.
Background
Loputyn came from a metaplane somewhere else after some runners found a way for her to pass through. Since then, she's been wandering Seattle and decided to stay, attempting to pose as a human. She also has found a way to earn money, through the selling of alchemical supplies and by being a parabotanist. But with being an Elvar and a parabotanist comes complications in life. As such, there can be times where she is inundated with those who want to do her harm. So, she's developed quite the bratty personality. "Thank's for not shooting me in the face, I really appreciate it!" and other sayings are all common when dealing with her.
The Meet
The team met up with the J for the run, Kon Kon. When there, they weren't sure who the J actually was, so the team milled around Cafe Kon looking for her. Checking in with (and hitting on one of) the host girls, the team found that Kon Kon was upstairs, waiting for them. Coffee in hand, the runners went to check in with and find out what Kon Kon wanted.
With a short conversation, the overly flamboyant Kon Kon told the runners that they were to check up on an acquaintance of hers. Seeing as how there were those in Seattle who wanted to keep Loputyn to themselves, Kon wanted to see Loputyn be free and removed from the clutches of any person or group seeking to control the free spirit.
That being said, Kon was tight lipped about what happened, and only told the team that they were finding a person, Thalia Lopatin. 5'5", white hair, gold eyes, not much to go on, but the team did get a location to check out. And so, the team made their way to Thalia's store to make sure she was okay.
The Plan
With little details on who or where Loputyn was, the team did what they could to locate her, starting with investigating at her shop. Though, when they found it closed, the team decided to start doing some work to break in and figure out what had happened.
The Run
Once at the place, the team decided to take a stealth approach. The first portion would include scouting, and so they shrouded themselves in magic and used their skills in sneaking to try and find a way in without alerting anyone. The team's first thought was to find the front door and check. Passing through a barrier, they found the front door locked. Without the ability to pick locks, the team looked for other avenues of
Heart of the Tempest assisted ThunderRaven by granting them access to the roof, wherein the team tried the door to find it was surprisingly unguarded and unlocked. Meanwhile, Hawk used their rigging skills to find the inside of the store was ransacked and in ruins. As well, the geometry of the store was... off. It wasn't square, and there was an entire room walled off without any visible entrance.
On the top floor, the team made their way inside to find the office was also ransacked, the terminal unlocked, and a coffee spilled over onto the floor. It was clear someone was here recently, and that there was danger nearby. Yet as the team was about to head downstairs, they found a trap left for them, tripwires meant to knock over and cast alchemy preps. Avoiding it, they went downstairs to left the Rigger inside.
Once inside, the team started an investigation to find their way inside, and downstairs. Tempest decided to astraly project down while Hawk went upstairs to check out the equipment the team saw. With an inspection downstairs through a high rating barrier, Tempest found there was a spirit and an astral rift down below. Not wanting to stray too far from the path, tempest returned up above to see what Hawk had uncovered.
Hawk, looking at the terminal, saw that more recently some people in runner gear had trashed the place, as well, Thalia was warned of their coming but chose not to do anything about it. Between this information and the dripping coffee, it seems like there was someone at the shop recently looking into the terminal and its contents.
Once reconvening, the team decided to try and find a way down into the basement or storage area. With investigation, it seemed like there was a door built into the walls but without any way to access it like a handle. Searching revealed there was a matrix online item in the store that acted as a switch, and Hawk located it to be a Bobblehead of someone holding a three headed dog, with white hair and gold eyes. Thunderraven, knocking on the bobblehead, unlocked the door. It creaked open to reveal a stairway into the earth, to which the team all entered after passing the barrier again.
Down below, the team realized there was an astral rift, allowing travel to a bubble metaplane. There was also another spirit, hiding in the corner, afraid and shaking. Pointing to the inside of the bubble realm, they told the three that "Loputyn" was inside and trapped with men with guns.
Not wanting to waste time in saving Thalia, the team split up with Tempest taking the front guard, while Hawk and ThunderRaven snuck around to hit the enemies from the side. Hitting the opfor with a boisterous laugh, Tempest faced them head on, which in an attempt to catch everyone off guard ended up revealing her position, but the other two runners were mostly spared the ire of the gunman and mage since they saw only Tempest. But when Thalia saw the runners who came to save them, she was quite grateful.
"Wow, thanks you came to save me! Please shoot these guys in the face okaaaay?!"
After a short combat full of F16 thunderbolts, the opfor was defeated, unable to show their true colors after being overwhelmed by drone fire and Tempest's incredible magical abilities.
After defeating the enemy agents, the gang returned to the realm they came from in order to get away before the rift closed.
Aftermath
Having saved Thalia Laputin, revealing herself to be known as "Loputyn" in the shadow community, she offered her services and thanks before returning to comfort her friend, Regret.
