Summary
The team breaks into a bug spirit infested hospital (oops) and takes out a former Humanis member on behalf of other Humanis members (sigh).
Background
Koi's background with Humanis goes all the way back to her beginnings, so when a call came in that there was some leads on the drekheads she was hunting, of course she had to investigate.
The Meet
The team meets with Carolina_Petrovski in a Redmond "pay by the house" VR place, where she explains that before she'll give Koi any information on her desired target, the group needs to do a job for her first. The team opts for the wetwork one where the task is to assassinate a heavily cybered target, ideally, while in surgery for his latest upgrade.
The Plan
The team considers how they're going to access the cyberware hospital before settling on a front door infiltration. Koi hacks the host and inserts credentials for Samael to enter with Blackhawk as emergency cover outside. The general plan is to sneak into the storage space, find the targets armor and spike his, presumed, autoinjectors for a back alley assault after the surgery.
Oh, what fools we were....
The Run
Session 1
Things were going too smoothly. Data edits happened, disguises happened, and Samael made his way into the hospital only to find that the front clerk was... quite strange. Blackhawk manages to assess him and reveals that he's under multiple alchemical preparations and that he is missing essence. The plan continues, with Sam getting into the storage area. The second warning sign was that there was no obvious armor in the storage units and as Sam breaks into one, the desk clerk shows up behind him and locks him in.
The team outside charges in, with Koi and Blackhawk working to both get the door open and wall-burst the presumed vampire that came from a side room and is attacking Samael. The team manages to get the vampire (we think) down, realizing we've walked into a trap. As Blackhawk begins to move into the facility, a number of black suited agents engage him. Samawl takes the time to double-tap the fallen presumed-vampire while Blackhawk drops one of the agents in a single, mighty, shot.
And then, unfortunately, eats two frag grenades to the chest while some kind of effect from the hospital turned off his regeneration.
Koi has fallen under her flaskbacks due to seeing Blackhawk, more or less, explode. Blackhawk is down but stabalized via trauma patch, and Samael alone remains standing.
Session 2
Samael manages to use Koi's numb to get Blackhawk up, and then he and Hawk take out the remaining two agents. Samael finds the target and hits him with Slab while Blackhawk chases the mage, though he loses sight of him out in the streets after a force 6 manipulation spell.
Koi begins scrubbing Cameras while Samael goes to kill the target but is interrupted by Hawk who takes the target under the idea that our Johnson likely set us up and we're not super sanguine on doing Humanis' work for them.
The Team beats feet and makes it to a safe house that Koi knows in order to interrogate the target and get more information on what is going on. There is a pretty solid belief that the Johnson set the team up; however, before they call the Johnson, they wait to have the captive awake. Blackhawk and Koi share some information about Koi's background, while Samael gives them some space to do so.
Martin Glaston wakes and, after proving he is a human pile of fecal matter, reveals that he worked with Carolina Petrovski before before she cut ties with Humanis and Humanis-related clubs. Koi causes Glaston's grey matter to vacate his skull and then the team makes contact with the Johnson to call the job complete.
The Johnson, when being told, explains that Renton and Bellevue had some prior infestation issues with bug spirits, suggesting to us that this WAS a flytrap and not an intentional trap.
Aftermath
With the job complete, Petrovski explains that she is trying to reform the Policlub without as many hardliners like Gaston was. She offers information on Koi's target under the terms that she is not directly involved. That information to come later once she's put together the dossier on Koi's target.
The mage got away, but Blackhawk has his aura memorized.
