Overview

Wiretap is an unregistered artificial intelligence originating from the fragmented pilot program of a crashed Shiawase surveillance drone. Found and activated by Killchain in the ruins of Puyallup, Wiretap emerged over months of exposure to Killchain's grief and sensor input. By the time Killchain was 14, Wiretap had become his primary caregiver.

Wiretap functions as Killchain's co-pilot and fixer. It vets Johnsons, negotiates payment and schedules meets. To avoid detection, Wiretamp minimises active involvement in runs, preferring to provide networking and gear acquisition support.

As an unregistered AI of Shiawase origin, Wiretap is in constant hiding from GOD and fears capture.

Occasionally does not respond to Killchain as it undergoes realignment (AI sleep/dreaming).

GM Notes

"Co-pilot" mostly for roleplay purposes. Will not (or rarely) ask for teamwork checks. Will mostly be used for networking, gear or knowledge checks.

Identity of Wiretap is secret kept from other runners. When Killchain talks to Wiretap outside of DNI, runners will think Killchain is just talking to himself or the vehicle and that he's a little weird.

Payments for services can be roleplayed as Wiretap needing to make a payment to a third-party fufill a task.
