Summary
Clocktower has found that a cult is operating within Seattle that wishes to summon a greater deity. The ritual itself is unclear, so RE:Gulus hires the runners to figure out where his fellow members went, where the bodies are, and to bring any alive. Finding out info about the cult or stopping the operations was additional but not necessary.
Background
The Clocktower is an organization operating from the shadows. They tend to keep to themselves and hire folks who prove their abilities. They are small in numbers, with less than 30 members total, and now even less after a large portion of their team was killed during an operation to sus out the details of a cult in Redmond. So, given the missing teammates, Re:Gulus takes command of Clocktower as its reluctant and reticent leader.
The cult activites are one of a newer sort going by a name of 'The Family'. Their goals are shaded and unknown, popping up almost out of thing air from the astral. More questions pop up than answered, so the runners are called in to deal with the cult and save the remaining Clocktower Members.
The Meet
The runners meet and discuss the situation with Re:Gulus, going over the nature of the Clocktower and the cult activities. Re:Gulus suggests the team head to a local bar to start their searches, but before they leave Lingchi and Re:Gulus have a short chess match where Lingchi foiled the moves of Re:Gulus, creating a new powerful move called the Redmond Gambit.
The Plan
The runners decide to head to the bar to scout things out, and then try to asses the damage from there. Heading to the bar, they begin the searches for Re:Gulus's fellow sorcerers' bodies.
The Run
Starting at the bar, the runners find themselves with a strategy; Enter Heaven and Bhop stayed outside to scout while Solaris and Lingchi head inside. Scouting the interiors, they saw an older wizard follow someone into the bathroom and summon a corpse spirit that began to attack a nearby citizen. Stopping the attack, the team found the wizard holding a strange piece of a tablet. The tablet called to Lingchi and pulled her towards a nearby warehouse, while Bhop picked up someone watching over the net named Mother.
Mother continued to say the few things over and over again; Its safe to come inside, do not bring weapons, do not bring the tablet, come alone, if you are afraid we will look together. It constantly repeated, giving the team an ominous vibe. Further inspection of the warehouse gave the team some entry into a basement, and together they ventured into the unknown below.
Exploring underground brought them further and further into the depths until they found they were stuck in a maze, with nine other pieces of the tablet waiting to be put together. After finishing the sliding puzzle, they used the magical tablet to get out of the barrier oubliette and continue down further. They found a sewer system filled with spirits that trailed the water, calling it the 'river Stix'. The spirits were following it, heading further down with the team, until the team encountered a large magical barrier outside of a torii gate deep underground. Continuing further led them to another, larger man made torii gate, the only way down a chute than seemed to stretch forever.
Sliding down, the team encountered a magically constructed underground chapel. The team encountered an enigmatic spirit revealing himself as Father, instructing them to head inside and meet Daughter, a reaper spirit from The Family there to create an army of Corpse Cadavres from the Clocktower team.
The runners, rather than running with the info, decided to stay and fight Daughter. After an arduous battle where Enter Heaven nearly went unconscious, the team surpassed her power and claimed victory. Finding that the magical lodge was then ruined, the underground chappel began to collapse, and the team escaped on a nearby Funicular, thanks to the help from Bhop.
Aftermath
Returning to Re:Gulus, they found he was giving the team bogus information because he was assaulted by a mage team from the cult, learning both that the one chapel was only part of the greater ritual, and more work was needed to be done. Finding the runners adept and adroit in their abilities, Re:Gulus as the leader of the Clocktower, decided to open its doors to runners from the Haven, should they be willing to work together.
