None, it went smooth. | Three unconscious, one covered in third degree burns, but still lived. | Knocked out, info stolen. |
Summary
The runners started out as the group began research on the target, finding out where they would be driving without guards. Then, setting up spikes on the main road, they ensured the target would be driving along a smaller route, wherein they knocked them out with a powerful drug, took the information, and a bit of scrip to make it seem like a robbery.
Background
This Millennium Consulting intelligence agent is employed by a shadowy patron to acquire this Horizon team manager and info courier's data lock's contents - "Employee Dossier: Narrowing of Identity Defragmentation" The patron needs to know about this employee and the specifics about them, which this data lock has, and so he hires the team.
The Meet
The job was set in a smaller bar, with a spirit guarding - one Oberon was quick to spawn a short lived rivalry with - which has a dress code of shirtlessness due to the raw heat of the place. The J was sitting alone, and when the runners approached it was a quick meet: he told them where the target was holing up, a drastically expensive motel, and that he needed it to seem like it was not stealing information. Then, just as quickly as the meet went, the runners went off to get to work.
The Plan
The idea was to frame the Halloweeners for spiking up the road, heading down into a tunnel and stealing the clothes and shitty gear from them. Then, they would use a potent dosage of narcojet to knock him out and make it seem like they robbed him, then take the data, and then it would be done.
The Run
The run ran like clockwork. First was the muscle, Tusked Gillete, who easily dispatched of a few halloweeners for their gear - it was partially helped by the weeners themselves as one falls from drain the other from a biffed molotov toss. After getting an invisibility spell cast on them by Oberon, they tried to sneak off to the roadway, but an assensing cop made that a bit rough - or perhaps, it was a good thing, as now the cops are looking for weeners. He ran away, set it up, and rejoined the team. During this time, the narcojet was set up, records from DocWagon checked by Vailrunner to ensure a nonlethal dosage and no allergies, and when the car came in, the work began.
Vega ensured no cops could be called as the target's comm was squelched, before Gillette ran up and smashed his windows, causing him to run out of the car. Then, Vailrunner jabbed the needle into him, and it was done. With Vega's matrix expertise, it took a bit, but it was easy to crack the datalock and the ebony credstick. A bit of arguing was had, but eventually it was settled that each runner would take 30,000 scrip (2,000 nuyen) and leave him with just enough for his hotel.
Aftermath
Getting back, they got the info to the J, and that was that. The run was smooth, and they were paid as promised.
