Summary

The team of runners walked into IC Breakers, interrogating the 6 deckers, and through a combination of the stories alongside diving into the host alongside Tom, they managed to find out who did it, and they fucking ate him alive lol.

Background

IC Breakers is a collection of deckers and riggers in Renton, and one of these is the Bellevue boy Joseph Tony, shit at decking but rich. He stole the deck from adept decker Luke Gregori, took his Cry Wolf program he was tinkering with, went into a host, got fucked, triggered Cry Wolf, killed Jane's husband on accident, oopsies, runners got called after Jane went to Luke to use his mage to figure out one of the IC Breakers members did it.

The Meet

The meet was honestly part of the run, it was very quick - Jane met them inside the club itself, telling them of the basic gist - find out which of the six of them did it.

The Plan

The plan was simple - examine all the decks, speak with everyone, break into the Host.

The Run

First one was Jane Tennaway, the J herself, who was rather easily cleared, but showed a dislike towards Joseph Tony. Then Sean O'Shea, discovered ex-Peace Force member and anime fan, showed an intuitive distrust of Joseph while protecting someone he sold a pirated trid to. Then Tom Lasindrandry, man who has dreams of building a sprite powered cog-turned dirigible, and man who was a prime suspect due to his extreme paranoia which reveals to just be him being fucking weird. He lets them into the host which he forgot because he laes's himself constantly, thus leaving SystemShock to have to delay IC until he could brute force the password and disable the IC through their technomancy. They got to the file, and found that Luke Gregori actually bought the Cry Wolf program last.

They went to Luke, and he claimed that his deck was stolen on the night of the Cry Wolfing that killed Jane's husband, and that only two people could've taken it - Joseph, and Han Orghast. They went to Joseph, who was immediately defensive about people touching his comm because everyone was "Sinless trash" but when Oberon asked him to show, he thought he could get away with showing it to him because he thought he was stupid. The stolen parts were revealed, confirming the story that Joseph had used the Cry Wolf, and giving the evidence beyond the then mind probe used by Oberon to confirm for himself.

Aftermath

IC Breakers made infinitely better with the death of that guy.
