Overview
Theriot is a genuinely sad example of a dragon. He's incredibly old but has stayed incredibly detached from the world. Staying largely hidden in the Gulf of Mexico he has done little for the past few decades aside from answer the occasional call of the Sea Dragon to destroy an oil derrick or other environmental threat in the Gulf.
The few metahumans that know of Theriot's existence are often curious to why the runty sea dragon has never made his presence a factor in his home region.
The answer is at best, sad, and at worst, a tale of deep emotions carried too far across time and changing circumstances. When he went to sleep, his best friend, lover and spiritual companion was in his soul. He has not been able to find it since the great awakening and the lack of its presence has driven the dragon into a deep depression.
Theriot is now awake, engaged, and watching events in New Orleans for the first time in a very long time.
Note: This is a Dragon in reference to our Contact Rules you automaticly gain one point of Notoriety if you take him as a contact.
GM Notes
- Unlike other more notable members of his species, Theriot has stayed incredibly close to home ground. He has mourned the end of his former life, plans, and former lover and best friends. While he is far from without resources, he has cultivated a network in the city by using various metahuman guises over the years, he does not control the vast resources of most dragons and is currently in the process of building up his hoarde and his people.
- Among the creole communities, swamps, and native communities that retreated to manors, wilderness camps and bayou estates Theriot has an immense presence and those who even know of the Dragon know the Bayou is a dangerous place for unwelcome interlopers.
- Theriot awoke at the same time as numerous other dragons, but has remained relatively inert and desperately looking for something, while simultaneously refusing to leave the Gulf of Mexico region to look for it anywhere else. It has been almost all encompassing.
Aspects Description
Aspect | Description |
---|---|
Careless Love | Theriot is deeply obsessed with finding his lost love. When attempting to contact Theriot, roll a D6. On a 1 or 2 the Dragon is not available for long range or digital communication and will need to be hunted down in person as he has become obsessed with a new lead. |
Bouncin' Back | Like the city he calls home, Theriot has seen many changes and much loss in his time. This includes his initial lair and magical hoard which is still inaccessibly sealed. When using Theriot as a gear contact, roll 1d6. On a 1 the Dragon is unable to provide the gear and rapidly ends the conversation out of embarrasement. |
Blues in the Air | Theriot is the equivalent of a several thousand year old Sad Boi. He is generally disinterested in mortal affairs unless he can be convinced it would further his search or his ends. Any services that do not directly correlate to the restoration of New Orleans or the quest to find his former ally cost a full chip. This can be mitigated by bringing information about his former ally or secrets about Lousiana. |
Time for the Sun to Rise | Theriot has stopped sulking and begun trying to woo the Heart of the City who he feels may have answers. +2 on Knowledge and Networking Checks related to Improving New Orleans or the surrounding Gulf Coast. |
Southern Nights | Theriot understands the need for live entertainment, distractions, and the culture of magical places like New Orleans. +2 Networking and Gear Acquisition for bolstering New Orleans musical or magical communities. |
Where Ya't? | Theriot, while an isolationist, keeps incredibly tight tabs on his city and its inhabitants. +2 on Knowledge or Networking checks to find someone in or from the City of Orleans. |
Big Chief | Theriot has spent years protecting the Mardi Gras Indian gangs, and bolstering their leadership and numbers in the lower wards and the Bayou, far from the eyes of the Zobop and Tamanous who have a strangleholds on the Central City and many of the wards. +2 Networking and Gear Acquisition rolls for contacting the Mardi Gras Indians or Attaining magical gear specific to their version of Santaria. |
Struttin' with some Barbecue. | Theriot has come ashore for decades to sample the local culinary fare and southern cooking and is a deep aficionado of traditional New Orleans cooking and BBQ. +2 to Networking or Gear Acquisition Rolls involving food, drink, and restaurants. |
Do Whatcha Wanna | Theriot is an individualist and is very taken with the endless originality and creation that comes out what is left of New Orleans's nightlife and street culture. +2 to all checks involving traditional New Orleans art, culture, or personalities. |
Break Em' Off Somethin' | Theriot knows that the Crescent City is fueled by intoxication. For better or for worse, getting wasted in New Orleans is the standard and the Dragon has spent decades in his spare time testing various chemical cocktails, drugs, and strange alcohol recipes. +2 Gear Acquisition and Knowledge Checks to find or know something about drugs or toxins. |
Do You Know What it Means? (to miss New Orleans) | Theriot would swear vehemently that all of his work and plans to rebuild the city of New Orleans is purely due to his devotion and obsession with finding his lost love, and being able to feel the spirit around the city. In reality, Theriot views the city as his domain and the spiritual successor to his fallen Caer. Until recently he has felt to weak to properly care for his charge. That has changed. +2 on Knowledges involving the city and region in general, and +2 on Active Checks if Theriot himself can be convinced to assist in acts of civil service. |
