When a moment of action, for whatever reason, shows weakness they swoop in and begin to tear and feast. An accidental discovery, a curio that slipped into a museum curator's possession by happenstance, lead to a deeply tragic and unintended accident. And the ripple of that accident, the midst of that tragedy and the mourning that should have gone by unimpeded so those affected could process such an unfortunate moment and move on, deal with the fallout on their own, only drew the vultures nearer and nearer. | |||

There were so, so many reasons why the night of October the 8th should have led to the deaths of countless people, a city under siege, and a powerful artifact in the wrong hands as good people died for nothing. | |||
All in all? it could have been far worse. Maybe there's still some hope for us after all. | |||
