Overview
Lord Aubrey Darling is the first of his name, elevated to the peerage by Lord Protector Edward Arthur Charles Gordon-Windsor some half century ago. Though his elevation sickened most in the House of Lords, Lord Darling and the Lord Protector had an understanding. In return for his elevation Darling, the leader of the largest British old-crime family, promised to reign in their street violence and transition them into a more socially acceptable form of criminality: the white collared kind. Still, from his early rough-and-tumble days Darling is heavily cybered and with his wealth and connections, all that augmentation is deltaware. He may be old, and he may be posh, but he is not someone you want to challenge.
Aspects Description
Aspect | Description |
---|---|
Greenwich Mean Time | Without spending a chip or taking on on, Lord Darling can typically only be contacted between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm...local time. Plan accordingly! |
Unbearably Twee | Lord Darling has been cosplaying as a gentle old blue-blood for so long that he has (mostly) become one. He’s old and sentimental and doesn’t take kindly to rough language or impatience. He operates on his own clock, unless you can speed him along. To conduct business with Lord Darling requires a successful Etiquette (1) test otherwise it takes twice as long as it would otherwise. |
Manners Maketh The Man | Lord Darling is an old-school gentleman, first and foremost, and will not tolerate breaches of common courtesy or hospitality in his presence, real or imaginary. He is a Lord, after all. When attempting to contact him, make an Etiquette test. On no hits OR a glitch, he'll refuse to work with you until appropriate amends have been made, subject to GM discretion. |
Example Positive Aspect | This is an example positive aspect. You can write the fluff in here. Duplicate this section as many times as needed for your contact. |
Most Noble Order of the Lord Protector | Darling was elevated by the Lord Protector himself, all those years ago. His ties run deep in the United Kingdom. (+2 to all dice pools involving the United Kingdom) |
His Crime Is Organized | Lord Darling has been the great conciliator of the UK underworld for five decades. There is little happening in the shadows that he does not know about. (+2 to all dice pools involving the UK underworld) |
The Firms Could Not Be Firmer | Despite his elevation, Lord Darling continues to lead the largest and most respected of The Firms, those old-world British crime families. Only in the last half century the Firms have kept their hands (relatively) clean of blood and Darling, even moreso. (+2 to all dice pools involving The Firms) |
Yardies | When something news to get done on the street level, The Firms turn to the Yardies who are more than happy to oblige for the right price. Darling knows what levers to pull on the street level to make things happen. (+2 to all dice pools involving the Yardies) |
Continental Inclinations | Lord Darling loves to travel. With his wealth and prestige, doors open all across Europe. (+2 to all dice pools involving Europe) |
SAS Approved | With his government ties, Darling is able to procure anything that might be used by the British armed forces. (+2 to all dice pools involving military equipment) |
Fancy That | Lord Darling has developed, shall we say, very expensive tastes. His familiarity with luxury and hard-to-get goods makes him an excellent contact for difficult gear acquisition. (+2 to all dice pools involving items with an Availability 15+) |
Corporate Creature | What’s the difference between The Firms, The House of Lords, and The Megacorporations? No, Darling doesn’t know either. (+2 to all dice pools involving megacorporations (AA or AAA)) |
Heavily Invested In British Industry | Lord Darling has invested in British corporations and has done so very, very heavily. (+2 to all dice pools involving Transys Neuronet and Hildebrandt-Kleinfort-Bernal.) |
