Summary

Celicy Vist was born to Kelia and Miorine Kotomine, the heads of the Followers of the Iron Thorns, a magical cult rooted in the mystical arts and ancient rituals. Growing up within the confines of the cult, Celicy was exposed to the secrets of dark magic and necromancy from an early age. Despite the unconventional upbringing, she developed a strong sense of loyalty to her family and the cult's teachings.

Tragedy struck when a Saeder-Krupp raid targeted the cult, leading to the disappearance of Celicy's parents and the dispersal of the Kotomine siblings. Celicy, along with her younger siblings Lath Kotomine and who is now known as Talulah Ashlocke Nearl (the deaf vampire necromancer), found themselves separated and forced to navigate the world on their own.

In the years that followed, Celicy honed her magical abilities, delving deep into the forbidden arts of necromancy. Embracing the vampiric nature within her, she forged alliances with dark forces and unearthed ancient spells, becoming a formidable Vampire Necromancer. She now returns to Seattle, hoping to find her sister and brother, to reunite their fractured family after 30 years.

Background

As Celicy delved into the shadows, she discovered that remnants of the Followers of the Iron Thorns had regrouped and established a new sect within a hidden building - the home she grew up in! Fearing the resurgence of the dark cult that had been led by her mother, the cult that torn her family apart, Celicy decided to take matters into her own hands.

Recognizing the danger that the cult posed to the world and desiring to reunite her scattered family, Celicy began hiring individuals skilled in both combat and magic. Her goal was simple: infiltrate the cult's stronghold, eliminate all members of the cult. Then, use it as a base of operations to uncover the whereabouts of her missing siblings, Lath and Nearl.

The Meet

The runners met with Celicy on top of a nearby roof. Celicy explained the situation; the cult had resurged and infested her familial home, much run down since childhood. She offered ammo and grenades, and much money, so much money. When asked for more money, Celicy easily accepted, offering half extra pay if they made a concerted effort to kill everyone inside, combatant or non combatant. However, extra questions from the runners arose, and extra information was given:

The cult was run by her mother, Kelia Kotomine, who had three children; Lath, Celicy, and Kolya (now known as Nearl). They were born with innate magic abilities and all showed a knack for mind magics. Used by the cult, the children were tools until their mother fully took over, but it did not last long and was wiped out by SK eventually.

With that in hand, the team decided to storm the building and kill em all.

The Plan

The runners decided a simple plan: Marissa and Lingchi would head inside and deal with the cult from inside, while Red Ribbon and Cleaner Cleaner would assail the cultists from affar. Sojourner would protect Lingchi and clean up where she could.

The Run

The runners Lingchi and Marrisa head into the belly of the cult, introduced directly to the leader ID and the spirit he summoned, a horrible visage to behold. In the shadowy interstice between eldritch horror and heavenly seraphic essence, the Reaper Spirit Kelia Kotomine emerges, a grotesque fusion of celestial grace and abysmal dread. This spectral being, summoned by the perverse ambitions of a cruel sorcerer, manifests as a nightmarish vision of what was once a revered figure.

Kelia Kotomine, in her reaper spirit manifestation, bears a form both unsettling and tragic. Distorted and mishapen, her once elegant visage is now marred by grotesque distortions, a twisted reflection of the cruelty of the summoning ritual. Tattered ethereal wings, once majestic and radiant, now appear as shadowy tendrils that writhe in an otherworldly dance. Her eyes, once the windows to a compassionate soul, gleam with an eerie celestial light that sends shivers down the spine of those who dare to gaze upon her.

And in the moment that they could feel the fear set in, the five runners struck, lashing out against those who's cult they were surrounded by. An opening shot rung out, signalling the beginning of the end. Yet in the opening moments when Kelia realized they were under attack, she screeched out a horrid sound that pierced the ears of those nearby.

To stand within the radius of Kelia Kotomine's Geometric Scream is to be ensnared in a symphony of cosmic horror that transcends the limits of mortal endurance. As the scream unfurls its dissonant chords, the air itself seems to quiver, an ominous prelude to the impending auditory onslaught. The first notes, piercing and ethereal, penetrate the ears like a thousand crystalline shards, each one threatening to rupture the delicate membranes within.

So did the team from there fight, wiping out the cult in minutes at most. As the main spirit was Fear, visceral and instinctual, coils around the heart of Lingchi the Geometric Scream unfolds its harmonized cacophony. It's not a sound one hears but an experience that transcends mere hearing—an assault on the very essence of perception. The geometric patterns woven into the scream's frequencies become visible to the tortured mind, dancing in nightmarish synchrony with the discordant melody.

A reply rings out in contradiction to the heavens, and loud is the reply from Lingchi: "I have seen the depths of the void. You do not scare me, not when I have seen the edges of the universe themselves. I have slaughtered a dragon of shade, and I stopped it. Alone." Lingchi stood in opposition to their insipid gaze, forcing her way against the evil in front of her.

In the aftermath of the spirit in the form of Kelia Kotomine's demise, a profound awakening rippled through those who had been ensnared in the web of her cult. As the haunting echoes of her otherworldly symphony faded away, the once-compelled souls found themselves suddenly released from the shackles of her mind-altering influence. It was a revelation that struck like a thunderclap, a disorienting shift from the surreal nightmare they had been living.

For months, these unfortunate individuals had moved as marionettes, puppets dancing to the cosmic rhythms of Kelia's will. Their bodies, once vessels of autonomy, had been mere extensions of her seraphic dominion. The realization of their cognizance, now unshackled from the ethereal puppet strings, was a visceral shock that reverberated through every fiber of their being.

Some fell to their knees, hands clutching at their heads as if trying to grasp the fragments of sanity that had eluded them for so long. Tears welled in eyes that had been blind to their own suffering, and guttural cries of anguish echoed in the wake of newfound awareness. The weight of the suppressed horror and the knowledge of their involuntary servitude bore down on them like a crushing burden.

Others, with a sudden clarity of mind, turned and fled from the scene, their footsteps a desperate escape from the lingering tendrils of the nightmare that had gripped them for what felt like an eternity. The world, once distorted by the geometric patterns of Kelia's influence, revealed itself in stark, painful clarity. The freedom to move and think independently, a privilege they had taken for granted, felt like a precious gift reclaimed after eons of imprisonment.

In the wake of Kelia's demise, the air was thick with a strange mix of liberation and despair. Those who had been mere vessels for her cosmic will grappled with the emotional tumult of cognizance, each individual realizing the depths of their subjugation. The cries of anguish and the desperate footsteps of those fleeing painted a poignant tableau of souls emancipated from a macabre dance, their minds now haunted by the echoes of a reality they had only just begun to rediscover.

Aftermath

The team feels uneasy having commited such mass killing, but those who attacked them gave them no leeway. So they returned to Celicy, who then paid the runners and informed them of her actions: repair her home, and find her siblings.

Sojourner

Spirit-slavers and slaver-spirits. Disgusting. I was fine with getting rid of them, especially with how horridly disturbed that... thing, made the world around it. Vampires creep me out, but at least that's just a passive thing, not a choice. Definitely too bad about the slaves who had to die in the process, but they were a danger, and it's better they found peace while blissfully unaware. Besides - they were aiming for my Yue. I'm not interested in torturing them or chasing them if they run or something bad like that, but none of their lives are worth a hair on her head.

Lingchi

Sojourner continues to behave strangely. I do not understand, but she seems concerned for my safety. I am just as concerned for hers, of course. However - I do not know what to make of her choices.

I do not feel very good about choosing to do this. However, their money is good. So I will spend it.

Red Ribbon

No, I don't want to talk about this one. Yes, I unloaded a machine gun into a bunch of the cultists. No, I don't know if they deserved it. I'm going to go throw up.

Marrisa: Ugh, vampires. I never like working with parasites. But, the money was good, and she certainly seems to be a useful ally to have. She reminds me of someone else though... eh, not worth bothering over. The job itself was simple, just go in and kill some people and the spirit they had summoned. Easy enough job, especially with all the help we had. Cleaner Cleaner was still a joy to work with, as was Red Ribbon. I got to meet Lingchi, and she was certainly interesting. A bit withdrawn, I can see why Nearl likes her. This "Sojourner" was pleasant enough, I suppose. I don't know what to make of her entirely.
