Background

Navaja May was born in Kiel. His life was very quiet until he turned 18. He grew up in a relatively peaceful suburb. Both of his parents worked for Ruhtmetall Marine Technologies. After graduating from high school with his Abitur, he joined the Bundeswehr, where he spent the next seven years. He was trained as a Fernspäher, a reconnaissance soldier who operates independently behind enemy lines. When he attempted to enhance his abilities with cyberware, his body reacted poorly, so the enhancements were not implanted. This disadvantage motivated him to push himself to the limit to keep up with others.

Navaja showed exceptional skill in both sniping and handling animals, leading to his training as a dog handler. He was assigned a female dog named Brünhilde, with whom he spent his years in the Bundeswehr. However, his career was not to remain peaceful. During an operation against an organ trafficking group, Navaja's unit suffered heavy losses. Stationed on the perimeter, he had to listen over the com as his comrades were gunned down one by one. He decided to abandon his position to assist them. Inside, he witnessed the full extent of the massacre. Though he and the reinforcements managed to defeat the remaining enemies, Brünhilde was mortally wounded and died on the spot.

As if this weren't bad enough, several organ traffickers escaped with multiple child hostages on a speedboat. Had Navaja not left his position, this might not have happened. As a consequence of his rash decision, he was dishonorably discharged from the Bundeswehr. Driven by a desire to atone for his mistake, he resolved to use his skills to find the children. His search took him far from home, from Amsterdam to New York, and finally to Seattle, where he found the children's remains in a warehouse. With nothing more he could do for them, he burned the warehouse down.

Afterward, he wandered through Seattle, dejected, sorrowful, and deeply indecisive, until he settled on Fox Island. An old hunting shop served as his sleeping place, and he foraged for food in the wild. On one of his excursions through nature, he met Dakota. She helped him during this difficult time and, for a price, provided him with another companion, the hellhound Siegfried. When Navaja received Siegfried, he was still a pup, but over the year that Navaja spent renovating the hunting shop and doing occasional jobs for Dakota, Siegfried grew into a majestic creature. Springtime Birch helped a lot training Siegfried. After a year and a half of emotional healing, Navaja is now ready to offer his skills on the streets of Seattle, hoping to stop more organ traffickers.
