Summary
The runners are consulted by their fixers of an opportunity to run security for a new park opening in Tacoma: one with paracritters as attractions. The team heads to a low grade cafe to consult the Johnson for more details.
Background
A new park was scheduled to open in Tacoma with several paracritters among their attractions; Cerberus Hounds with puppies, Harpies, and a breeding pair of Behemoths to be specific. Security bailed on them at the last minute, and thus they were left with the rest of the budget to hire freelancers, where the runners come in.
The Meet
The meet was at a run down cafe. The team consulted the Johnson with the situation explained to them, asking several questions such as what precautions were in place, how much they would be payed, and how long they would be employed. It turned out that they were offered 10k nuyen for 2 days of security work. The team agreed, and began their legwork.
The Plan
In preparation for their work, Poe tried tirelessly to prepare their clothes for some sort of uniform-passing, but struggled to do a great job, ending up with a passable result. The next morning, Pasiphae and Narukami check out the place early, getting an idea of the paracritters they were dealing with, confirming the cages were properly enforced (they weren't) and confirming that exit routes were plentiful. The paracritters seemed to be drugged to be sleepy at first so they would cause minimal issues until they woke up fully.
The Run
The job goes mostly smoothly for the first day, until it begins to rain and the transformer box powering the electric fence containing the behemoths, and the pair of them break out. The crew jumps into action and combat ensues; Narukami attempts to neutralize them with her Katana, Pasiphae assists with grappling and great strength, Navaja sics his hellhound on the 'critters, and Poe supports with magic, keeping concentration up the whole time. Eventually, the male is subdued and the female returns to it's cage after Pasiphae attempts to throw it back in and Poe uses command to force it back in. No sooner had that problem been dealt with than the Cerberuses start trying to bite their way through their cage, spooked by the sound of the transformer exploding. Pasiphae thinks fast and grabs a bucket of water sitting out to stop the caustic saliva that is burning its way through the cage, after Poe locates the transformer and disables it temporarily so Pasiphae doesn't get shocked in the process. Navaja is unfortunately hit with fear from the Cerberuses and is forced to flee, as is Pasiphae after a moment. When it wears off, Poe and Navaja manage to calm down the Cerberuses with excellent animal handling. Things began to calm down, and the staff began to clean up.
Aftermath
The second day of work is uneventful, with the park having to close due to the outbreak. The animals are kept dorphed the entire day so they don't cause problems, and repairs are done while the team takes watch.
