Background
Saraphina Mercedes, known to the world as Pasiphae, had once been a symbol of heroism and selflessness. Born into a family with a long lineage of Zoroastrian believers, she was instilled with the values of courage, compassion, and the eternal battle between good and evil. Her upbringing molded her into a woman of unwavering conviction and unyielding bravery.
Saraphina served as a firefighter in the heart of the city, where danger and disaster were constant companions. She faced the flames with determination, risking her life to rescue those trapped in the infernos that ravaged the urban landscape. It was amidst the aftermath of one particularly devastating clash between rival factions, N-51 and S3I, that her fate took a drastic turn.
In the aftermath of the battle, with smoke still lingering in the air and the echoes of chaos fading away, Saraphina stumbled upon a young woman amidst the rubble. Despite the danger and the uncertainty of the situation, she didn't hesitate to rush to the woman's aid. Ignoring the warnings blaring in her mind, she reached out to pull her to safety.
Little did Saraphina know that the woman she had rescued was no ordinary survivor. She was an infected ghoul, a creature of the night, and the touch that sealed their fates. The infection spread through Saraphina's body like wildfire, altering her very essence and marking her as one of the undead.
Yet, despite the horror of her transformation, Saraphina's faith remained unshaken. Drawing strength from her Zoroastrian beliefs, she refused to succumb to despair or hatred. Instead, she directed her anger towards the forces that had caused the tragedy, blaming not the ghoul woman she had sought to save, but the factions whose conflict had unleashed such devastation upon the city.
Using the gifts bestowed upon her by her ghoul nature, combined with tempering her adept powers, Saraphina, now known as Pasiphae, found herself drawn to the shadows of the Ork Underground. Amongst the downtrodden and the outcasts, she sought solace and purpose, using her skills to navigate the treacherous streets and protect those who had nowhere else to turn.
