Summary

Trained as a maid from youth in hopes for a better and brighter future, only to be kidnapped at her 18th birthday and have her entire life taken on a strange path.

Now her old owner is dead, she's grown a good lot, and she's turned to running the very shadows that made her - albeit this time with her own motives at hand.

Background

Born on Valentine's day to parents she would never know, Zinnia was bound for a life of tragedy.

Zinnia was given up for adoption nearly instantly and sent into the care of what would become a prolific maid finishing school for youth. There she was raised in childhood under the strict watch of her teachers, nannies, and security, to make sure she was to grow into the maid that the young woman was unwittingly in debt to. She excelled in her studies and took to it all readily, becoming a brilliant star of her academy. It was at graduation dinner, that tragedy would befall her. Black bagged as she got some air outside the party, she would spend the next six months enduring degradation and deeply unethical surgeries to maximize the nuyen they could get out of her.

At 19 she was bought by an older woman off the black market dealings, and both her debt and the extortionate price of her personhood paid off. Thankfully, her interest was purely pragmatic - a maid she didn't have to pay and was an expert in her craft. She'd serve for the next seven years, even taking further schooling when her mistress deemed it necessary for the young woman to educate herself further. She was given the identity of one 'Ada Cooper,' and eventually forgot her born name. Tragedy would strike the household she'd come to live and work in, as by the time she had finally become Head Maid, her mistress was assassinated, leaving her isolated. She tried to go to police, tried to use any assets she could to find the killers.

Nothing would come of it. Her loyalty, born from sense of duty and obligation to one who gave her a far more comfortable life than she did in the boarding school, was unwavering - but directionless now. It took another three years before she could move on.

In the meantime, she found herself running the shadows—negotiating deals, managing the affairs of fixers as needed, and even doing the occasional Johnson work.

Now she's vetted and looking to do more - even if she never finds the answers she seeks deep inside.
