Overview

Divisional Chief (DC) Harry Metzger leads Knight Errant’s Seattle Metroplex Division of Investigation. DC Metzger was once squeaky clean; a true believer. His years at Lone Star were without blemish. Commendation after commendation. Yet when Lone Star lost its contract with the Seattle Metroplex in 2072, he was not transferred elsewhere. For all his years of loyalty and honesty he was rewarded with a digital pink slip and a garnished severance payout.

Knight Errant scooped him up and gave him an office befitting his merit for his time at Lone Star but instead of being given a fresh lease on life, he’s been locked into stone. Due to his Lone Star connections KE doesn’t trust him enough to promote him, but doesn’t want Lone Star to realize their mistake and take him back. So he is trapped, serving now for 12 years in the same capacity without commendation or pay raise. If he’s going to be trapped like a rat, treated like vermin, then frag it, he decided. No one externally pressured him or extorted him. How could they? He’s Meritorious Metzger.

No: DC Metzger bent himself.

Aspects Description

Aspect Description
Hates Himself Metzger might be spiraling when you call. He's got a lot of sick days and plenty of reasons to take them. Roll a 1d6: on a 1, he's not contactable for 24 hours.
I Am Not Here To Make Friends DC Metzger is a new man, and not a better one. The self-destructive side may push him into the shadows but like a frightened animal he’s desperate not to get himself into a trap. Loyalty can never be raised above 1 without a special run, and can never be raised beyond 3. Metzger isn’t in this dirty business to make friends.
Paranoid DC Metzger is spiraling emotionally but he’s no idiot. He leads the Division of Investigations for frag’s sake. Metzger will never, ever meet a character in person and will only connect if the character contacting him is using a burner commlink. And he can tell. Don’t ask how.
ACAB DC Metzger has been a cop his entire life. His father was a cop. His grandfather was a cop. This drek runs in his blood. Few people better understand the world of law enforcement than Metzger. (+2 to all dice pools involving law enforcement)
Metroplex Memories Once upon a time, Metzger was a patrol cop in that Lone Star Yellow. He has fond memories of those days. A time where, if only occasionally, he was able to help a poor slothead or gutterkid. (+2 to all dice pools involving street-level crime)
Patrol Division Metzger knows what petty criminals and amateur shadowrunners rarely do: your safehouses aren’t nearly so safe as you think. From his time on patrol he’s mapped out some of the most frequently used ones in Seattle and could give you a real good idea about where to find one in other cities. (+2 to all dice pools involving safehouses)
Division of Investigation DC Metzger’s baby. Or at least, it should be. He can’t help but look at the officers and detectives under his command in the Metroplex and feel seething hatred and gut-twisting disgust. Regardless, Metzger knows his stuff. (+2 to all dice pools involving criminality within the purview of the Division of Investigation (Forensics, Homicide, Organized Crime, Robbery, Special Investigations, Surveillance, and Vice))
OCD Back when Metzger gave a drek, the Organized Crime Department took up a lot of his focus. He knows the scum of Seattle better than they know themselves. (+2 to all dice pools involving Seattle Metroplex underworld elements)
Lifting Those Lifted Fingerprints Forensics, the bane of the shadow community. Unless someone can divert a forensics team or tamper with the results before they enter the global database. (+2 to all dice pools involving forensics)
Vice City Depressing stuff. But what can Metzger say? People are drek. Always have been. (+2 to all dice pools involving the chip trade, drug trade, or sex services)
Missing Tapes Department of Surveillance, the second bane of the shadow community. Good thing you know a guy with unfettered access to gathered intelligence and records, isn’t it? But it’ll cost you. (+2 to all dice pools involving public, and KE, surveillance)
The Special Investigations Private contracts; rich people looking to move up their missing person’s cases to the top of the pile. And if they’ve got the nuyen, they get immediate attention. Sickening, isn’t it? There are cold files and digital dead ends for a thousand thousand KE cases. You might want something disappeared from one…or perhaps, you’ve got an investigation of your own? (+2 to all dice pools involving KE Special Investigations)
Grinch’s Heart For all of his ennui and self-destructive habits, deep down in DC Metzger there’s still that 20 year old Lone Star beat cop trying to help the helpless. It can be hard to reach that part of Metzger but if you can, you can awaken something in him. Something very energized and productive. Something that cares. (+2 to all dice pools involving hooding or obvious do-goodery)
