Character Information
Summary
A human technomancer looking to make a new life for herself after some bad gang experiences.
Goals
- find a nice runner group.
- learn more about and improve her powers.
- learn social skills, since she often rubs people the wrong way.
- improve her quality of life.
Background
Wanageeska (meaning: white spirit) Huancahuari (meaning: rock from the Vicuña) was born in Shoshoni Wyoming in 2060 to a native American father (Etlelooaat (meaning: shouter) Huancahuari) and native American mother (Minninnewah (meaning: whirlwind) Huancahuari). After 4 years, right after the second matrix crash in 2064 she started to discover that she could use and manipulate electrical devices with her mind, when she told her parents, they got scared. In a small community like that, it was not very accepted. They did not want to leave their home, but they couldn't risk her getting locked up in some sort of Re-education center either, so they left her in Boston, hoping she would find her luck there.
There, a gang found her. It was an pro-human gang called The Other One, significantly funded by the Humanis group. As far as she was aware, they started as a small group of humans that were just sick of seeing orks and trolls and started out just damaging property, yelling racist slurs andother minor stuff. But when they got more members, and some attention from humanis this quickly escalated. They went from petty stuff to kidnapping, killing and otherwise heavily suppressing non human people, mostly focussing on orks and trolls. The gang insisted on teaching her the use of a weapon, she was allowed to try quite some different weapons, but seeing she was mostly used for matrix matters, she settled on a heavy pistol, but she never got any good with it.
She not only liked the matrix, the physical part of machinery was also fascinating, tearing apart machinery to see how it works, using machine sprites to aid her with every step if needed, and to see if she could put it back together, trying to make it better than before or just to repair it, getting manufacturers plans from the matrix or from raids to help her in this. Having the gang help her carry the heavy stuff if needed since they saw a useful (read ‘free’) way to upgrade and repair their more expensive equipment, unfortunately she could not bring these plans with her to Seattle.
The gang also tried her to train in first aid, but her asocial ways and disinterest actually seemed to slow down recovery, so they moved away from this. Instead made her to repair weapons and armors when she wasn't doing Matrix stuff. In the new wireless world everything was still available to her. Due to her, for lack of a better term ‘imprisonment’, she didn't get a lot of chances to expand her technomancer knowledge but she did meet someone on the matrix that thought her some technomancer ways but couldn’t really go into detail due to the distance, he did help her preparing for leaving the gang, how to cover her tracks better, make sure nobody would find out that she was the one that sold them out.
After living 20 years inside the gang, she left. When she left, she took all the money she could. She was also helping a Knight Errant detective from Seattle getting a solid case against all the members by, instead of removing files the gang wanted removed, she stored them on a hidden datachip as Sn00p3r tought her, keeping other copies of data she could get her hands on. Most of the gang was fairly technologically illiterate, so hiding all this from them was quite easy. She also kept any photos or video's of everything they did when out on their little quests. When she left the gang, she handed over the datachip and they helped her get out of the city after which she went to Seattle to use her skills to earn some money and stay alive and finally meet Sn00p3r. She now lived alone for a year in Seattle. In her year in Seattle, trying to find a runner group so she can start earning some real cash.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positive
- Child of the matrix - Analytical mind, Focussed Concentration 3, One with the Matrix II.
- As a Technomancer basically from birth, she grew up with all the ones and zeros right there in her head. She feels more at home in the matrix than anywhere else.
Negative
- Addiction (Moderate) (Psyche)
- Being a captive of an anti meta-human gang for 20 years has left some scars. trying to forget all about it, she dove into the matrix and discovered psyche in the process.
- Uncouth
- Having never learned proper social skills by both living in the matrix and being raised by a gang, she often doesn't have a filter and just splurges whatever comes to mind.
