Summary
Something is brewing in the shadows. Syndicates are getting antsy, and the forces behind the scene are arming themselves. Amidst all this, personal interests of those caught up in the rains of change might just come under light again. The events of this night were simply another drop from the clouds that foretold of the storm to come.
Background
The White Vory have begun mobilizing again it would seem, according to one Red Vory constituent and her informants. They had been smuggling small time under the Red Vory like the rats they are for some time now, but the Red have realized that now they've gone from simply delivering goods for profit to arming themselves. Including one particular shipment which they didn't want reaching their destination. So, what do you do when you don't have a lot of details to go on and don't want to risk too many resources at once?
Hire Shadowrunners to do it for you.
The Meet
The team was assembled at met up - with varying degrees of issues - at a bar over in Tacoma. A nice place to be all things considered, but the team was feeling all business tonight. The four met with their J for the evening and got the rough details of the job: That there was going to be a shipment docking somewhere in Tacoma that they'd have to deal with, arriving sometime around 5-6am given the panic that the White Vory were in about it all, and which they would have to make sure those traitorous assholes never received. Either by destroying it or snagging some extra cash by getting it over to her. Speaking of which, the strong woman offered about 10k each for the team of four, which Tsarina was obviously going to try and milk for more, ending up with a deal for other weapons, ammunition, and drugs the team could get from the Red's own stash. Once the job was done, they'd contact the J and, if they had the shipment, meet her at a drop off point over in Puyallup to hand the goods off. With that, they were off to the races.
The Plan
The first step was going to be to narrow down the avenues for where the Vory were going to make this docking and prepare to either infiltrate or bust them down midway through the fight. The recon would be a job between Tsarina and Exodus, with NSH helping Klom get his heavier weapons across the borders of the Sprawls.
Once the dock was located, and if they got there ahead of schedule, Exodus would take out one of the fodder and replace them, and try to get on the shipment vehicle. From there, she'd help hijack the vehicle from the inside with the team supporting outside, and they'd either commandeer the thing or just offload it into NSH's obscene "boat" to carry away.
If they either failed to find the dock in time or found it when the offloading from the boat was happening, the team would go in loud with an ambush to handle things the old fashioned way. Kill anyone who resists, take what they need, and book it. But this wasn't preferred.
The Run
Gathering information and scouting went off without a hitch. Exodus and Tsarina did a good job of whittling down the initial suspected areas the groups would take, and then with NSH's drone support once the team regrouped they confirmed the White Vory presence. Furthermore, some matrix searching revealed reports of a boat that seemed to have White Vory markings (subtle and subdued mind you, but still distinguishable) over by Everett and avoiding sensors. They knew they had plenty of time to get in position to nab this shipment, and the second phase of the plan went into motion.
Unfortunately, the guard positions that the Vory were using made bodysnatching a little harder, and Exodus needed backup. And even with magical spells to help her, Tsarina is not nearly as good an infiltrator as the proper snatcher was. While they eliminated 2 of the six guards, the others were on alert, and the team realized they had to quickly mobilize for a fight. Worse, the team weren't able to squelch communications with the other Vory on the boat, so they were on alert and reinforcements were on the way.
The team did manage to off the guards at the dock, but had to quickly reorganize. After trying to dig through commlinks for route info (which didn't help, but led to the discovery of a list of contractors which their Red Vory client would be very interested in) they had pivoted plans - NSH and Klom back on the nightmare boat to find the shipment in the waters, based on Tsarina's knowledge and well-educated guess that the Vory couldn't dock anywhere but Tacoma, as Exodus and Tsarina would keep an eye on the docks to make sure that the Boat didn't give the other team the slip. The boat team did spot them on the waters, with a particular standout member whom NSH recognized as being a fairly accomplished Shadowrunner - and whom Tsarina would recognize when the image was sent over was one of Alexander's former students. This had her on high alert, but it also meant she was more determined than ever to take this man down. if not for the potential information he could have...then just to spite Alexander by punking one of his other students.
NSH and Klom raced over the other side of the Outreimer Island to beat the slower boat to Tacoma, picking up Tsarina and Exodus to prepare for the ambush. The group prepared an ambush out on the waters: kill their engines with a well placed shot, use the gunports to keep the opposition from nailing anyone in a vulnerable position, make sure NSH is covered against any possible spirits from Belov's magician friend that he was known to travel and work with often, and eliminate anyone they need to in order to unload cargo while in the water over to their own ship.
The fight itself was messy, much like the team's prior foray, but the armor of the ship itself and their combined efforts meant they were able to prevail against even this well trained assassin and the other Vory. From there...it was just time to get what they came here for.
Aftermath
The magician was, in fact, on the ship, but he had no interest in making this mess his problem. The team got to unloading cargo and Tsarina got to mind-probing and stealing Belov's commlink in order to gather whatever information she could. The Mind probing was not working out well given her fatigue from all the magic she had been overworking herself with through the night, but NSh managed to uncover a particularly strange and well-protected transcript of a messaging exchange which Tsarina figured out was some assassin coded speech between Belov and...someone else.
The actual delivery itself was fine enough - NSh's monstrosity was capable of getting the cargo back just fine, and it gave Tsarina the perfect excuse to fleece the Johnson for even more cash. The team left that situation relatively satisfied.
A few days later, it would click for Tsarina. The other person in that messaging thread was her former mentor. The rest of the speech was a bit harder to decode, but one thing was very clear as she read the end of the thread: he'd be in Seattle when things went down.

Tsarina
It is very hard for the former assassin to understand the emotions coursing through her at this moment. Things are moving far faster than she realized they would. And the mix of bloodlust and fear is such a nauseating combination that it becomes hard for her to recognize the slurry it forms inside of her mal-adapted heart.
Klom
"These jobs have me catching a frag ton of bullets, good thing I'm good at it."
Exodus
"What a mess... It's not surprising that guards properly covering each other leave few windows. I'm out of my element fighting like this... things are so violent in this city. Nothing to be helped - I'll just have to adapt. Maybe that's what Evo wants. But... who was that mage? And why did she seem so familiar...?"
