Summary

The runners are hired by a mechanic for a promotional street race in the track next to his chop shop, colloquially known as the Landfill.

Background

Greasy Eddie is a sort of celebrity in Everett, both because his undeniable talent in anything related to vehicles, and for the legendary parties he throws from time to time. No pretentious music, nor other high society drek, Eddie's parties are based around 2 things and two things only: shared access to the communal grills, and getting to watch the best pilots the sprawl has to offer competing down in the track, and people wouldn't have it any other way.

The Meet

The runners are contacted by their fixers as usual, and all of them make extremely clear that the pay is almost non existent for this job. It is however a great occasion to have fun and test your skill against equal opponents, so all accept to give it a go. Once at the place, Greasy Eddie swings by and greets all the runners personally, chit chatting about their vehicles and offfering a beer if they so desire, and then leaves them to the race

The Plan

Be faster then the others. That's it.

The Run

The course had 3 sections, a series of long straight roads with little and gentle curves (speed), a portion filled with tight turns and cramped passageways (handling), and one straight shot to the finish line, fitted with ramps for some stunt action (speed). All the runners started side by side, and in the first section Strobe, Charon and Scrappenny were very close to each other, with the vampire getting ahead just by a miniscule margin, while Trample in the back made use of her Panther XXL to take shots at Scrappenny's car. In the second section, it was more or less the same, with Charon's Lamborghini proving superior to the other vehicles and pulling ahead by a greater margin. The last section saw a breakneck high speed duel between Charon and Scrappenny, that saw the latter win at the photofinish, despite the damage withstanded after Trample's shots. In the meantime, Strobe went for style points, attempting two stunts in a row, the first being a complete success, and the second fragging up her car. Trample decided to stop and help her fix it, so that they could race properly till the end.

Aftermath

The result was: Scrappenny 1st Charon 2nd Trample 3rd Strobe 4th

In any case, all four proved very capable and were treated as champions in the party afterwards, by a cheering crowd
