Overview

Defrag was born and raised as a UCAS citizen. She had a difficult childhood, struggling with depression, until a high school counselor took notice and helped her get better. When she graduated, she decided to study psychiatric medicine to help others like her. Shortly after Crash 2.0, while still attending university, Defrag Emerged, and between the sudden change and the early persecution of Technomancers, she'd have sunk into depression again if she hadn't the mental discipline and training to look after herself; after all, in those early days even therapists weren't safe to talk to about being a 'dangerous Technomancer'. When all the troubles died down, she came forward and got a technomancy license, and decided that there weren't enough therapists who understood the Resonance enough to help Technomancers who needed help, and decided to step up, opening her own practice on the Matrix, with an option for walk-in visits to her office in Maplewood.

Defrag got to know many technomancers and helped them find their feet, especially with the help of her favourite therapeutic device: The Cuddly Technocritter. Now, technocritters are *usually* hard to train, but it's not too difficult to train even the most Emerged of dogs to like headpats, or the most stubborn of Bastets to like laying on a lap while being petted. Of course, getting them to do any actual tricks is never going to happen.

Recently, while trawling the resonance and matrix looking for Technomancer in need (not enough mundanes come forward for help when they need it, never mind people who've been persecuted for the past couple decades), Defrag found a new Technomancy school, and found they had an opening for a school counselor. After doing the standard research to make sure this wasn't another experimental facility, she applied for the job.
