Character Information
Summary
Bloodstain is a battle-hardened elf, his body a canvas of scars and tattoos that mark the many factions he’s bled for during his years as a mercenary. Now an enforcer for the Ciarniello Mafia, he is infamous for his brutal, often sadistic methods, deployed as a blunt instrument of destruction to handle the family’s bloodiest and most dangerous tasks. His enjoyment of combat and unrelenting thirst for chaos has earned him a reputation that’s as feared as it is useful, though his lack of finesse and disinterest in the politics of the criminal underworld prevent him from climbing the family’s ranks. Still, his reputation for ruthless efficiency and savage lethality makes him a figure that commands both respect and fear. Bloodstain is an unstoppable force, forever driven by his insatiable hunger for violence and carnage.
Goals
Hone himself into a perfect instrument of destruction.
Background
Blood and Shadows: Born in Tir Tairngire, Bloodstain came into the world with every advantage his elven lineage could offer—beauty, grace, and a future of boundless potential. But he never fit the mold. While his peers embraced the ideals of harmony and sophistication prized in Tir culture, he found the structured life stifling. Beneath the pristine surface of Tir Tairngire’s perfection, he hungered for something raw and untamed. He craved conflict.
From an early age, his violent streak alienated him from his community. Schoolyard brawls turned into duels, and duels became full-blown clashes with the Tir’s local security forces. When he was old enough, the military seemed like a logical outlet for his aggression—a place to hone his skills and finally find the chaos he craved. But even there, the tightly controlled operations and measured skirmishes left him unfulfilled. He wanted more than order—he wanted carnage.
War Junky: Unable to restrain his thirst for violence, Bloodstain left the Tir military and turned to war tourism. The battlefields of the world became his playground. He fought in every conflict he could find, signing up with mercenary units, paramilitaries, jihadists, separatists, and anyone else who would have him, tattooing the unit insignia's of whoever he was fighting with on his skin. Ideology meant nothing to him; he switched sides without hesitation if it promised a better fight. To him, the battlefield was a drug, and he was an addict..
His reputation as a bloodthirsty, sadistic fighter grew with each campaign. While other mercenaries fought for survival or profit, he fought for the sheer joy of it. His comrades were often wary of him, recognizing the gleam in his eyes when the bullets started flying. Yet, despite his brutality, he forged bonds with some who shared his penchant for chaos. One of these comrades was Angelo “Angie” Ciarniello, a human with a sharp wit and a connection to the Ciarniello Mafia Family in Seattle.
The Turning Point: During a particularly grueling jungle campaign, Angie was mortally wounded in an ambush. As he lay dying, he entrusted Bloodstain with a package and a final request: deliver it to his family in Seattle. For one of the few people he respected, Bloodstain honored the dying wish.
When he arrived in Seattle, the Ciarniello Family took notice. His reputation as a fearless, unrelenting warrior preceded him, and the package he delivered—likely sensitive information or valuable contraband—secured their interest. They offered him work, initially as a low-level enforcer. Interested in this new battlefield in the shadows, Bloodstain accepted.
A Blunt Instrument: In the Ciarniello Family, Bloodstain's bloodlust quickly made him an asset—and a liability. He excelled at tasks requiring violence: collections, punishments, and high-profile hits. Rivals feared him, and even his allies tread carefully. But his lack of subtlety made him unsuitable for delicate operations or the family’s business dealings.
While his work earned him the status of a made man, everyone knew he would never climb the ranks. His violent tendencies and sadistic streak ensured that he could never handle the nuanced politics and negotiations required to lead. Instead, the family assigned a fixer to manage him. This fixer saw an opportunity: use Bloodstain's violent inclinations to further the family’s reputation in the shadows.

Local Bar Patron - The Brass Barrel | Nestled in a quiet corner of Snohomish, The Brass Barrel is a dimly lit, unassuming bar that serves as both a watering hole and a front for the Ciarniello Family's operations. Its name hints at both its high-quality liquor selection and the subtle nod to the firearms often discussed and traded behind closed doors. Regular patrons know to keep their questions to themselves, and the staff maintain an air of polite discretion.
Bloodstain is a known fixture here, often occupying a corner booth where he can keep an eye on the door and enjoy the strong whiskey and occasional job offers that come his way. The Brass Barrel is a perfect blend of gritty and classy—a place where shadows and deals flow as freely as the drinks. |
