Summary

An Oni Sukuyen Pirate Mystic Adept. That's right a vampirate blaster. Like a cannon.

Goals

• Survive as a vampire.

• Reconstruct the events of his turning.

Background

Born to an Oni father who escaped Japan after goblinizing and a human mother with ties to Arawakan tribes. He was raised in Havana and while his homelife was mostly stable, the streets of Havana drew him into the criminal life. After awakening he was recruited into a small pirate crew.

Life at sea felt expansive. Freedom, open space, and an outlet for his chaotic tendencies. They raided small smugglers, fishing boats, and pleasure cruises often leading with a comet barrage from Carronade himself. Of course this carefree criminal existence could not last forever. It wasn't so much that their raid went badly. In fact in was fairly uneventful. They attacked, boarded and stole some stuff. Sure some people died, but that's just how these things go sometimes. The boat, however was carrying a runner team with an extraction target. That boat sank with the target on board and in indelibly linked the crew with the target's disappearance. It took a bit of time for them to put things together, but finding out they were wanted by a megacorp (Aztechnology) had the crew spooked and they set sail for calmer waters.

Three weeks later they wound up in Seattle intending to lay low. Carronade and a few others of the crew picked up some odd shadow jobs through a contact the captain had in the city. Carronade's talent was obvious and so it was easy for him to make headway in the local trade. Ziz even offered him an invitation to stay and move up, something about a Shadow Haven. But his crew was getting antsy and plans were made to leave within the week.

He does not remember most of this. What he does remember is a pretty blonde girl in a bar and then waking up a five days later in an alley outside of a street clinic. There were bodies and blood, sure, but the sun was the worst part. The spectral shapes of the astral were alarming as well. As he made his way underground to hide from the sun, it didn't take long for him to realize what must have happened, at least in broad strokes. He'd been infected.

This left him with few options and so he entered the shadows.
