"The remaining Virgin Islands National Guard were expelled from the naval base, at my orders, on suspicion of treason. Only a small detachment of my UCAS Army Regulars and marines from the Biden held out in the naval base, whose land side had been surrounded by the protesting locals.

I ordered Sergeant Major Hemmingway to evacuate along with the rest of the NCOS, but she refused.

What can I say about her? Ambitious. Rigid. Highly intelligent. She seemed to care very deeply for her compatriots. No one who knew that young woman then could say otherwise.
