Summary
Four runners are hired to steal back the merchendise that Isabel of Isabel's aircraft feels was stolen from her. The merchendise is being moved amongst other cargo in a cargo plane from Vladivostok to Seattle with various stops along the way. The runners intecept the plane mid air, take control of it, lands it and "steal the cargo back".
Background
Charlotte Lindburgh of Flight_Club, Thun Field, Seattle, and Isabel of Isabel's Aircrafts & more, Near SeaTac, Seattle want to buy the same merchandise at an auction in Vladivostok. Instead of overbidding Isabel, Charlot outsmarts her by changing the bidding currency on Isabel's commlink to Quebécois Francs instead of Nuyen. This way, Isabel's bid is only worth 50% of her intended bid, which makes Charlot land a lot of valuable equipment at almost 50% of the expected cost.
Isabel is infurated and feels that Charlotte stole the auctioning lot from her. To get even, Isabel hires Samael, Nu11st@ck, Glitch and Thunder to "steal back" the goods.
The Meet
Isabel sets up the meet with the runners at the Deli in Zephyr-South Building and invites them to a remarkable breakfast. She explains that some cargo that was stolen from her is soon going to be shipped from Vladivostok to Seattle via varioius stops on the way, and the shipment needs to intercepted and stolen back before it reaches Seattle. The runners find the pay good. While some runners are low on cash, and others know that Isabel has great gear-access, they negotiate for payment in kind and gear-access, as well as partial pre-payment, which Isabel agrees to.
The Plan
Nu11sta@ck pitches the idea that the team could intercept and board the cargo-fligth mid-air, take control of it, to so steal back the cargo. There are other options, but Nu11st@ck's idea does not only seem fund, but also feasible. Thus, other plans quickly get dismissed and the crew feels happy about the daring mid-air interception which includes daring tasks, such as Samael boarding the cargo transport by jumping from one plane to another mid-flight and breaking into the boarded plane.
The Run
Working the matrix, contacts and deviniation, the runners get an idea of the opposing forces, the flight route and confirm what equipment is being transported. In order to keep Samael safe and increase the probability of a successful mission, Thunder summons a task spirit to teamwork Samaels absolutely daring free-fall from the team's plane to the cargo-plane.
Before Samael boards the cargo plane, Nu11sta@ck and Glitch manage to break into its host, take out its pilot and gain control over it. Samael jumps ...and lands gracefully on the opposing cargo plane, gets into it and takes out the second pilot as the remaining smuggler turns to look back at where the loud shots were fired from, only to look straight into the barrel of Samaels gun. He raises his hands above his heads to surrender at the same time as a huge troll and a spirit land behind Samael and look angrily at the surrendering smuggler. Thunder, the troll who doesn't like loose ends, takes a quick step forward and punches the lights out of the poor smuggler who falls unconcious.
Samael and Glitch make sure the highjacked plane lands safely on the ocean, so that the team can re-load the goods onto their own plane. They close the doors of the smuggler aircraft to make sure they and their plane doesn't go under and drown and fly back to Vancouver and deliver the goods to Isabel.
Isabel is greatful and shows her gratitude by paying the reward and offering a special discounts items she currently in stock.
Aftermath
Isabel is happy.
Charlotte is not.
Tit for tat?
No. The intensity of fight between the two competitors has increased one more level and has the potential to escalate further.
The smugglers? Their cargo got stolen and they now would owe some really bad people some serious favours...if they knew who they were. At least they didn't loose their plane, and any repairs needed will be covered by the value of the drugs they diverted from the cargo before the flight.
