Character Information
Summary
Thunder is a strong troll from the Black Forest. He has a heavy fist punch and also likes to use his good target to distribute damage with his silent bow and heavy machine gun. hurt and on the same team, he'll be happy to heal you with magic. His [mystic adept] powers accentuate his powerful and striking presence.
Thunder is eager to work and good company on a run.
He grew up on a farm in The Black Forest Troll Kingdom (Allied German State – ADL). His main interests are are healing and bow-hunting. Those interests developed naturally in the depths of "The Forest". His father (still lives in The Black Forest) is the local go-to for anyone with health problems.
At 15, Thunder came to Seattle on an foreign-student archery scholarship. A local high school which felt the need to add some diversity to its statistics was keen to establish an overseas high school exchange partnership.
After graduation, Thunder applied to various local colleges and scholarships to learn more about magic and healing. Unfortunately, he didn't get accepted: He took on temporary work as a heavy lifter at the docks and bouncer at clubs in Touristville to afford food and a matrass.
In his spare time, he used to earn a few extra bucks as bare knuckle fighter. An acquaintance pushed him to meet Salvia Necrosa (fixer) to find out how to risk his health in a much more serious and lucrative way. That's how he became a runner. After a few runs, Thunder realized that running in the shadows is so much more than just a way to earn a quick buck. He finds that he has grown as a person through success in missions. He's gained self-confidence and self-awareness. He he has realized that he can influence his own destiny by his own decisions and it is up to him to shape his own future.
Goals
Long Term: To become an experimental researcher in the combined fields of magic, healing, cyber- and bioware. To Earn serious money to afford a college education. (OK, the money as a runner has been really good, but also slippery. "Oh, is that the latest armor technology you're wearing? I love it! Where did you buy it? ...where did my Nuyen go?").
Short Term: Learn how to use the matrix. It seems like a sea of opportunities. Learn to put aside a Nuyen or two for a rainy day or even that college education.
Background
After his first couple of runs, Thunder began to realize that he could influence his own faith. The way others treated him was not only due to discrimination against certain Meta-Types, but that appearance and manners also matter. He undertook a targeted effort to not look dishelved and started to observe other people, their appearances and behaviour with more intent. The reward was almost instantaneous. Looks and manners opened new doors and gave access to previously unattainable opportunities and experiences.
Thunder grew up on a farm in the Black Forest. A very protected environment in deep woods. Daily routines included assisting with the animals on the farm and muscle work in the family forest. Highlights were bow hunting and assisting his father in healing injured neighbours.
His uncle Brick, who lives in the outskirts of Seattle and works as a taxi driver overheard a conversation of a local high school headmistress, who was talking on her Commlink about how her school was at risk of loosing funding due to the lack of diversity. Brick seized the moment and pitched the idea of enrolling a Troll from Europe who was scholastically challenged by growing up in the depths of the woods. In addition, said troll would be a great athlete in a sport uncommon with young people – archery. Problem solved!
Thunder got a ticket to Seattle and became one more spice in the melting-pot.
In high school, Thunder was a bit of an outsider but didn’t mid. He considered the few friends he had in Seattle better than having to walk five miles to the closest neighbour in the Black Forest.
Living in Seattle was exciting and still is. What a place! So many impressions and opportunities!!!
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positive
Alibi - All those inquisitive questions first lost their intimidating effect, then became boring and finally sparked Thunders imagination. Telling a good story to get out of a tight spot has become ever more natural after repeatably finding himself in situations where telling the truth seems more harmful than a sharing a fairitale.
Analytical Mind - Do you like puzzles? Thunder can sit for hours in front of puzzles and riddles. It's relaxing and much fun!
Battle Hardened - Master Shedim, Sea Drakes, Monoliths, Humanis Policlub supremists, 10 000 Daggers, Unbreakables, Horror Shows, Great Spirits... At first, Thunder asked why here, why me? Now, he rather asks himself what the best countermeasure might be. Though each of those encounters hardens ones nerves, there will still be some future opponents which will cause his armor to have to be cleaned on the inside again.
Biocompatability - Some things you don't know until you try. Thunders is lucky because bioware seems to fit better with his system than it does with the average meta human.
Common Sense - If you take enough hits to your head -either you learn, or you don't survive. Thunder has been running with very skilled professionals who have taught him many valuable lessons and helped him survive and retain his lessons learned.
Daredevil - Biting off more than he can chew is one of Thunders bad habits. Especially for a troll known to have a big appetite, this is not always a good thing. His naivety and let's get it done mentality sometimes gets Thunder into trouble bigger than him. Luckily, he is used to fighting trouble bigger than himself and tends to be cool and lucky instead of panicky and shaky in such situations.
Focused Concentration - Lonely days, growing up in the woods makes one creative. Thunder found an interest in experimenting with magic, classical healing and rudimentary biotech. Juggling those miss-fitting balls, all at the same time, taught him to focus on many things in parallel. It didn't always go well. Some scars can still be noticed.
Legendary Rep (N-51) That Tank Fight was insane!
Legendary Rep (Sons of Sauron) - Some dangerous wet work on some truly evil supremists and a bunch of Orcs to witness the impressive devastation left behind has given Thunder quite a rep. with The Sons of Sauron.
Mentor Spirit (Bear) - Not having many friends, growing up in the woods, where some of the darkest classic fairy tails were conceived, fantastic things happen and friendships with nature are forged. Helping a stray bear cub survive its first season without its its mother was a turned into a great friendship. An unexpected additional reward was the spiritual mentorship and protection of the diseased mama-bear.

Perceptive 2 - So many fierce opponents hiding in the shadows have made Thunder look twice before allowing himself to relax.
Perfect Time - In the depths of the woods where tales like Hansel and Gretel are a part of reality children learn at an early age that keeping track of the sun-down and the rhythm of nature might be the only thing that saves you from disaster.
School of hard knocks - Coming to Seattle at the age of 15, Thunder realized that he had to learn to survive on the street in order to become someone. The eagerness and curiosity with which he tries to broaden his knowledge is impressive, just like some of the scars he earned along the way.
Sensei - Commander is Thunders go-to for questions about heavy machine-guns. He met Commander during the Rad-Wars of 2084.

Negative
Phobia - Uncommon, Mild, Rats Thunder developed a mild phobia against rats when he met a totally deformed man who claimed his deformation was the result of a common rat-disease he had contracted from getting bit by a rat. Supposedly the disease is very common with rats and spreads easily to Meta-Humans. Thunder has not yet been able to find any indication that there would be a known cure to the disease and panics when confronted with named rodent. It does not matter that Thunder also hasn't been able to find the disease described in any articles while searching for the cure. Overlooking the obvious is so easy when panic strikes.
