Summary

SpiderSam is a Spider Morph Combat/BnE Burnout Adept. Once just a regular chummer working the underworld for creds, now he's a regular chummer working the underworld for creds ... with 6 arms, thick hairs covering his entire body, 8 eyes, large fangs, digitigrade legs, and a gland on his abdomen that can produce spidersilk on demand.

Goals

• Make enough money to never have to work again
• Get enough of a rep that people will stop confusing him for a bug spirit. Spiders are not bugs. Alternatively, kill all bug spirits.
• Enjoy the thrill of the hunt!

Background

Born a nobody, SpiderSam managed to accrue a small fortune in bio augments working as a bodyguard (and occasional prize fighter) for the Ancients. But things went south when he, and his client, were caught in a freak mana storm while traveling. The sole survivor, he was transformed into a spider form humanoid. Rejected by his former employers, working what odd jobs he could, he managed to get an in to the runner community, who were a little more forgiving of ones appearance.

Notes: Thematically, the SURGE enhanced his physical abilities while decreaing his logic and charisma. He spent most of his reserve cash getting a cerebellar booster so that he could regain his former intelligence. The fangs and spidersilk gland he purchased to lean into his new style.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

• Mentor Spirit (Wolf Spider) (Reflavored shark) - Wolf Spider wants to see Alex hunt down his prey.

Negative

• Human Spider: SURGE Elf, Shiva Arms x2, Satyr Legs, Setae, Unusual Hair, Third Eye (flavored as eight spider eyes), Critter Spook (spiders are creepy), Allergy: Soy (digestive system prefers meat)
• Dependent: He has an adopted teenaged (orphaned) cousin who lives with him. He might have preferred a relative who isn't a shadowrunning spider morph, but beggars and choosers.
• Vendetta (Bug Spirits): Something about bug spirits makes Alex's predator instincts go into overdrive. Not to mention, it's very annoying being constantly associated with insect spirits. Spiders aren't bugs!
• Distinctive Style: SpiderSam really leans in to the Spider motif.
