Summary
A medical corporation wants a ghoul with a novel mutation for study. The run goes.... somewhat not to plan.
Background
Akira Pharmaceutical Supplies is a megacorp that focuses on regenerative medicine, sometimes derived from research on infected. Having heard of a ghoul in Redmond who, after infection, developed a strangely accelerated healing, they hired a local team to take the risk of capturing them.
The Meet
The team met their Johnson at a restaurant in Tacoma. After collectively freaking out the waiters, they met with their Johnson to discuss the job. While it seemed simple enough, a kidnapping of a recently turned ghoul, Cleaner Cleaner was unnerved by him, and asked the team to keep an eye on him.
The Plan
The team did some research, finding out that the man was doing work for the skraacha, and paying what he earned back to his wife and children. The team made a plan to have Ardent impersonate his wife in order to lure him out. Using a spirit to track him to a dangerous part of the underground underneath Redmond, the team set out.
The Run
The team was able to track him down through the tunnels, with Cleaner Cleaner being able to keep the team on track despite the poor conditions. After meeting them however, they realized a flaw with the plan: ghouls are blind, and dual nature, immediately seeing through the disguise. Cleaner Cleaner had to incapacitate him with gel round before he got away. Loading him into Rogozhin’s Van, they began to drive back away to the meet. In a flash of insight, Ardent checked to see if they were an adept, in case they could heal faster then normal. Rogo’s dog assensed him, and saw that he both was an adept, and had healed incredibly fast, nearly waking up in the 15 minutes it had taken. They make sure to restrain him properly at the way to the handoff. At Cleaner Cleaner’s insistence, Rogozhin scouted out the meeting area, finding nothing amiss, just their Johnson and a rigger cocoon inside of the car. However, as they got closer, the team saw something strange on the cars camera. Where there should have been a Johnson, there was a strange, shadow-and-quicksilver figure. Preparing for the worst, the team got out of the car with Rogo’s spirit, 2 corpse cadavers, and Cleaner’s rifle at the ready. The spirit, assensing, found out that the figure was a spirit of man, with the trid phantasm spell cast on it. The spirit attempted to coerce the man into his van, and after the teams refusal to do so without payment, an ambush was sprung, with soldiers firing from nearby buildings. The team defeated them, and Cleaner Cleaner shot the engine block out of the car as it drove away.
Aftermath
The team caught up to the car, pulling the actual Johnson out of the cocoon. After a terse negotiation, the team took what money they Johnson had to pay them, and then left the now unrestrained ghoul there with him, telling Johnson that he could take his prize, if he had the strength to claim it.
