Summary
The team gets called in by Bellerophon to compete for him in a race against the Pelletier in order to slay the bear. The team manages to beat the pelletier and Pentex to the bear and get away without a trace.
Background
Pentax loses track of an experimental dragon-hybrid bear made in collaboration with the dragon Vermithrax as part of the wyrm's ongoing efforts to understand and replicate the secrets of drakes. In response to rumors of its appearance, The Pelletier family throw down the gauntlet and challenge Bellophoron to get to the bear first. In response, he calls in a team of shadowrunners to compete in his place, as he finds himself otherwise occupied on the other side of the world.
The Meet
The team is contacted by their various fixers and invited to a meeting in a rented host on the Renraku grid. The Johnson rezzes in and introduces himself to the team. He's stuck on safari, but the Pelletier have taunted him about catching a new half-dragon critter. Orchid negotiates for access to longarms and other hunting weapons from Bellophoron. He explains that The Pelletier have a matrix specialist/rigger, an explorer, and a sniper.
The Plan
Orchid contacted Highrise in order to smooth the travel through the various territories between Seattle and Quebec. She drives Trade's Armadillo up to Quebec since the off-road vehicle seemed like it would be better for traipsing through the woods. The rest of the team hops into Corf and takes a very confusing, but very efficient ride to Montreal. The team exchanges introductions with each other while they wait for their minders to arrive. The team stops at a cafe and get a cup of coffee and rhubarb pie from Julio and Ramona. Fidem goes and gets themselves ready for the cameras and slots their Sionann Flanagon personafix and rocks her way down the red carpet to a waiting car. Orchid and Trades follow along in the Armadillo.
A nice drive and the team arrives at a farm to pick up some oils and unguents in order to dispatch the animal without tainting the alchemical ingredients. Trades finds the Pelletier's PO box, but isn't able to track that back to their hunters. Orchid and Gremlin move to check with the locals for information. They find about some ongoing forest fires and try to encourage the locals to share some more information. Gremlin manages to convince a local to share some information about Benois, a woodsman who might know more about the patterns and other such information. Trades compiles some comprehensive data about the fire patterns and Gremlin puts together the pieces. The pieces fit together and she's able to get a clue to start working with.
Trades does an overnight matrix search and curls up in her hotel room to pilot her drones while the rest of the team goes to meet Benois. Fidem is able to convince him to tell them about the dragon bear he saw. He even reports there might be a wendigo present. He saw the bear down south and postulates that Pentex might be responsible for its creation.
The Run
Gremlin starts tracking the bear with help from the fly-spy and her dog. The team treks through the woods in search of the bear and take great efforts to conceal their passage. Trades spots one of their duck drones and sends her fly spy after it. Eventually, she is forced to break off the pursuit and return to the party. The team tracks it to a cave, and Fiden moves to plant the bait to lure out the bear. Gremlin takes it out with a shot to the eye and the Pelletier give a good-hearted thumbs up as the team runs from the Pentex recovery team and a very angry Vermithrax who is razing the valley.
Aftermath
-The dragon-bear's body parts are spread throughout the talismonger market; rumors of Pentex's experiments spread. -Gremlin keeps one of the astrally-active scales as a trophy, potentially earning Vermithrax's enmity in the future. -Fidem appears in Slaughterhouse Productions' newest B-movie, La Loup-Garou de Labrador; Gremlin makes an uncredited cameo.

Gremlin: Got this scale it rubbed off. Orchid says not to keep anything, but, I'm built different. First time using a crossbow? Nearly one shot a dragonbear. I think I'll be okay.
Trades
Don't tell the others, but I kind of enjoyed getting to stay in the nice air-conditioned hotel room while they all traipsed through the woods. More seriously, they all seemed a bit bloodthirsty. Bellerophon had to twist their arms into agreeing not to try and murder the Pelletiers. Apparently one of the other runners was pretty famous, but I hadn't heard of them. Maybe corporate backing does funny things to a shadowrunner's heads; All the lawyers insulate them from the consequences maybe? They all seemed pretty flabbergasted when I just came out and said I was a technomancer. I'm pretty sure I can get a comm message out before one of them could kill me, but maybe I should make sure that Norville knows that they reacted like that. Just in case I mysteriously go missing. Besides, he might be interested in talking to Bellerophon about getting some of those dragon bear bits.
