The Meet

Bunny Hop, Brokkr, Gremlin and GX7 rez into a host, and begin to discuss the job, before meeting briefly with the Johnson. He explains that they need to get to Raleigh, North Carolina and meet him at a hotel. Gremlin offers to take the group in her gopher via ancients smuggling routes, with her on her bike. Grouping up at Gremlin's garage, they load up in her gopher and after one last check they have everything, head off. Or at least, so they thought until Six of Hearts rolls up. Gremlin was just expecting a package to run along the route for Ether but is also getting a babysitter.

The Drive, the Desert, and .... Alligators?

Under the cover of darkness, the group sets out for Boise--A non stop wireless off trip to the sprawl. After arriving in Boise, Gremlin promises to take the runners to a Gator farm that has a petting zoo if they do well, BHop complains at the lack of fluffy pettable options before Gremlin offer to take her to a bird petting zoo instead. Seven seems to find the idea of a Gator farm ideal, and considers it a goal to do well. Bhop acquiesces to the idea of going to see the birds, while commenting to Gremlin how much Seven creeps her out, which Gremlin agrees with. They head to sleep, with Gremlin starting them up at dusk. Having them go through the Mohave, dodging the blood rain, spirits, and all sorts of other awakened spookiness. Spotting a mana storm, Gremlin makes the call for them to stop at Albuquerque. BHop tries to take this opportunity to look around for a little more information -- Finding Pepsi is putting out a limited edition prestige beverage made from awakened Newfoundland roe. Pushing through to the Carolinas, Gremlin leaves the group briefly to head home to Pink Hill, North Carolina. The small town is largely ancients and their families, and Gremlin doesn't want the group setting foot in the tiny town with her. She doesn't plan on staying long, but due to being one of twelve siblings, Gremlin is roped into southern small town pleasantries, and family. Upon returning, Gremlin makes it clear to Six that she won't be leaving the Carolinas, as some Hell's Angels are moving in on the turf--And despite being the family black sheep, she feels obligated to stay and sort things out.

The Meet, Again

They meet the J in the hotel room, who offers them once again, more Coke. He finally reveals he wants the newest Pepsi product tainted with bacteria, and the data stolen and then tampered with. Able to negotiate at least their travel costs covered, the group goes scouting the outside of the plant. As Seven examines the rating 8 ward, and the drone scouts inside the building, BHop slips into the R6 industrial host. Collecting themselves and their gathered information, it is quickly realized that it all hangs on the Hanuman.

The Plan

BHop will fake a call, allowing the guards to be distracted by Six while Seven slips in, going through the vents to open the vial and disperse the bacteria.

The Run

Six, Seven, Bhop (via the matrix) and Brokkr (via drone) decent onto the building and execute their prepared plan.

Seven gets distracted by a few guards, wanting a snack, and is discouraged by Gremlin and Brokrr. This is when Brokkr utters a fatal mistake; revealing Seven's identity as an infected. This immediately sets Gremlin off, who is ready to kill Seven. Meeting at the drop point, BHop discovers there is no money, while Six spots Hells Angels incoming. Combat ensues, with Seven literally using magic to melt a man, further proving Gremlin's point as BHop asks for them to leave at least one person alive. Despite being unconvincing they are able to spare two. At this point, Gremlin loses her willpower to not shoot Seven, but misses both him on the ground, and him after he jumps onto a biker to flee.

Aftermath

The group calls Pepsi to report their deed on the behalf of coke, and the group heads for home, sans Gremlin. The group, per Gremlin's promise, stops at a reptile petting zoo. Gremlin returns to her birth place, unhappy the Hells Angels tried to ambush them.

Narrative Consequences:

-Mr. Johnson (the scientist from Red vs. Blue gets his long-delayed revenge on ShadowHaven for involuntarily extracting him from Coke, escaping blame as he successfully duped the runners into thinking Coke hired him; the fact that it was an inside job was missed by PepsiCo management, as the runners alert them to the sabotage and blame their rival.

-The Hell's Angels lose 4/6th of a squad of bikers - two escaped, one slightly essence drained.

-GX7 is identified as a vampire by Gremlin, who resolves to hunt down the hanuman.

Bunny Hop: Awful road trip - I had to sneak online like I was a kid again, I got kidnapped and forced to pet an alligator, I guess because they thought it was funny??? We didn't even get paid, sono yarou threw bikers at us and I watched one melt. Glad they didn't get to really shoot us, but that really could not have gone worse. I'm digging into the comm of every Johnson I get from here on out, I don't even care if it's rude.
