Summary

The team gets calls from their fixer and gather together at the Daze where Reina Taylor presents the job to them: Kill a bunch of Halloweeners on camera while dressed up as Knight-Errant officers for their web special. Raj calls Der Oppa who puts the team in contact with Al Green. Al Green is able to find some incredibly detailed information on a Halloweener cookout, and delivers that to the team for a fee. The team reports back to Flash Star! and performs some final preparations before they proceed to the cookout. Many Halloweeners surrender, but the team ends up executing the survivors to rid the barrens of them. Their corpses are delivered to Meat by Čarivnýk and Irena.

Background

Flash Star! Is producing a follow-up Trideo for their Halloweener special, and their analysts have reported that a follow-up focusing on judicious violence against them is likely to capitalize on seasonal discontent. Reina Taylor is placed in charge of organizing a team of runners.

The Meet

Der Oppa calls Raj and informs him them that there will is a job opportunity for them to make use of their skill with violence. He's excited to be performing violence. Obsidian is spending this Monday evening in the plastic jungle where she is attuning to the relatively natural environment. Madame Butterfly asks if she still can put on a good cop impression, and sends them down to the Daze. Irena is hjiding out in her home, an abandoned train car, in the Ork Underground helping some spirits that she invited. She receives a call from Kayo-ii who asks if she can put on a good performance of being a cop. Carivnyk is spending time in his home in glow city trying to shoo away some free spirits in his shack. He receives a call from Bolt who asks if they too can perform a good impression of being a Knight Errant Officer.

The team makes their way to The Daze using various modes of transport where Reina Taylor awaits them. The Team greets Reina Taylor as they arrive and start taking their seats. Once the team arrives, she starts briefing them. For a web special for their true crime trideo, they need footage of Knight-Errant busting a Halloweener hideout in the next two days. The team pushes back and requests more payment because the halloweeners are a ruthless gang of criminals. Reina offers a small bonus and access to some gear options.

The Plan

The team convenes as they begin to try and determine where a Halloweener campfire might be. Irena can remember that the Redmond Barrens are one of the territories where Halloweeners like to hang out. Raj calls Der Opa who puts him in touch with Al Green for a modest fee. Once Al Green is in contact with the team, Obsidian manages to negotiate the cost down slightly before Al Green comes through with a motherload of information for the team. He gives the team a force disposition as well as details on the location and time of the cookout. Obsidian and Irena team up to summon a spirit together. Raj grabs a couple of flashbangs from Flash Star!'s prop department

The Run

Obsidian leads the team in ambushing the halloweeners at the cookout. The team slices the pie while Obsidian throws down Vines and her guardian spirit begins suppressing the Halloweeners. Halloweeners start surrendering in droves as they find themselves trapped and unable to escape. The team shoots the few Halloweeners that continue fighting before those eventually surrender. With their expert tactics, the team quickly finishes the combat before part of the team begins executing the survivors.

Aftermath

A surplus of corpses are delivered to Meat by Čarivnýk and Irena.

Player After Action Reports (AARs)

Raj:I never thought I'd end up as an extra in a trideo special. Seattle is a strange lace indeed. Couldn't ask for better mates. If more of my officers were as skilled as Obsidian I might've stuck around. Sorcerer lived up to the handle...and I'm damn glad I could use a nickname I've never seen that many consonants in a name. Irena was tough to figure out. Secretive even for a shadowrunner. Fastest little motherfragger I've ever seen though. Pumped out a lightning bolt before I'd even sorted out targets. Personally I would've spared the survivors; dragging them out in shackles would've made good video. Oh well, a good payday. Obsidian: Simple and easy. Ambushing gangers isn't my style but...with the Halloweeners you can't take any chances. Killing surrendered people behind our backs...that cannot stand. I don't think I can work with those two anymore.
