Overview
Originally hailing from Port-au-Prince, Djimy "Papa Jim" Jonassaint relocated to Seattle a decade ago to care for his grandchildren after his daughter's sudden, unexpected passing. Even though his grandchildren have since grown up, he remains in Seattle, running a cluttered lore store tucked into a corner of the University District. Papa Jim presents himself as a cheerful, easily distracted old man prone to regaling his customers and clients with stories of home, which makes it hard to believe that he spent most of his youth running with a Zobop krewe back in Haiti.
