==Background==
==Background==
Julianna Blossomtree can't tell you much about her childhood. Her parents are a blur, even the members of her tribe of otaku are fuzzy sometimes. In the end, she remembers two things: the old Matrix and her best friend, Laura. When the second Crash brought this halcyon era to an end, Julie was on 'meat-watch', and watched both of those things die catastrophically simultaneously.
Skilled and gifted, Isabel Gold traveled the length and breadth of America, fighting the good fight and helping whoever she could. At least, that's what she'd tell you. After a long (relatively) career of doing good alongside suspect, the aging Gold decided to put down what roots she could, starting a travelling school of magic in the Emerald City. While her Romani tradition did not lend itself to teaching particularly well, Gold's gifts of persuasion and a little surreptitious mind-magic did. Taking a liking to a few particularly-gifted students, she even had some of them legally adopted under her fake SIN. This, however, was not to last.

In the ensuing turmoil, Julianna's home city of Montreal was torn apart as Cross Applied Technologies was torn apart by Ares attacks. Slipping into the cracks, Julianna Blossomtree became just another SINless kid. Swept up in the burgeoning Neo-Anarchist movement, Julie was lucky enough to find employment with them as a child coder, forgetting most of her dangerous past. Naturally gifted as most otaku were, Julie eventually found success as a Neo-A operative, working to infiltrate the Montreal music scene.
Investigating an astral disturbance coming from beneath the parking lot she had her mobile home/school parked, Isabel found herself in the den of a pack of cunning but rapidly-losing-their-marbles ghouls. With a few students, the soon-to-be Shadow Weaver confronted them, but a ghoul too far gone to even recognize her mystically-enhanced commands to halt and surrender managed to scratch her before being put down. Gold hid this for a time, but eventually succumbed to the Krieger strain. Hungry for flesh and in understandable mental distress, Isabel scratched a few of her concerned students and fled her little school, going beneath the surface and taking stock of the shambles that was her life.

Miss Blossomtree's new normal was shattered when she emerged, a traumatic process that dredged up some serious bad vibes. Connected once again to the resonance, she found it terrifyingly different, tainted forever by the loss she faced. Jumping at shadows in the Matrix, and set upon by a inescapable sense of dread, Julianna left Montreal, losing most contact with her friends in the movement. Trying to lose herself in the center of the shadow community and escape the attention of the "demons" chasing her, she took to Seattle, finding safe haven with a local group of fellow neo-anarchists.<br />
After languishing for a few years as an opportunistic predator, the ghoul formerly known as Isabel Gold heard a whispering in the tunnels. An idol for her to follow, the very Shadow that had engulfed her life, a new way to look at the philosophy that had guided her magic throughout her life. Recontextualising her principles for her new subterranean, cannibalistic lifestyle, Shadow Weaver found herself at last in a position to get back to work, thanks to the recent arrival of [[Amelie and Jean-Baptiste]].

'''Otaku to Technomancer -''' The Woman From Another Place has a long past on the Matrix, and alludes often to experiences she's had in the past with its 'children' and the 'dark electricity'.
'''Exceptional Attribute (Magic) -''' Isabel was particularly gifted before her infection, brazenly exploiting her gifts and natural charm to her every advantage. Even after losing her essence to HMHVV, she remains formidable in her magical might.

'''Instinctive Hack''' - She, as a nearly lifelong hacker, is also skilled at operating online under pressure.
'''Infected (Ghoul) -''' Mhm. Gray skin, blind, hates the sun, eats the flesh of her fellow metahuman. That's a ghoul right there.

'''Better on the Net (Sleaze)''' - Elsewhere focuses her matrix efforts on stealth, preferring to evade the attention that comes with less subtle approaches.

'''Addiction (Mild, Psyche). Wired User''' - The Woman From Another Place relies on Psyche to 'ride the lightning', and it seriously benefits her to be using it as often as possible.
'''Aged''' - Getting an awakened disease and living in tunnels for years can prematurely age you.

'''Dependent (Nuisance)''' - Elsewhere is responsible for [[LAURA]], an AI that reflects the personality of one of her old otaku friends.
'''Distinctive Style''' - Just because your skin is grey now doesn't mean you have to stop wearing your colour. Isabel doesn't dress as flashy as she used to, but...

'''Social Stress''' - She finds reference to the old Wired Matrix quite traumatic, associated as it is with both the best and worst experiences she can remember.
'''Faceless''' - Don't look at her teeth. Or the scars on her face, but those are probably fixable. Those chompers, though? Yeesh.

Character Information

Summary

Once a striking and successful hooder and adoptive mother to some, Isabel Gold fell from grace when a scratch from a ghoul led to her infection and the infection of one of her charges.

Goals

  • Nom on some bods and stop living in a fucking tunnel.
  • Avoid confronting her past in a way that makes her too uncomfortable.
  • Get rich enough for family counseling

Background

After languishing for a few years as an opportunistic predator, the ghoul formerly known as Isabel Gold heard a whispering in the tunnels. An idol for her to follow, the very Shadow that had engulfed her life, a new way to look at the philosophy that had guided her magic throughout her life. Recontextualising her principles for her new subterranean, cannibalistic lifestyle, Shadow Weaver found herself at last in a position to get back to work, thanks to the recent arrival of Amelie and Jean-Baptiste.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive (?)

Exceptional Attribute (Magic) - Isabel was particularly gifted before her infection, brazenly exploiting her gifts and natural charm to her every advantage. Even after losing her essence to HMHVV, she remains formidable in her magical might.

Infected (Ghoul) - Mhm. Gray skin, blind, hates the sun, eats the flesh of her fellow metahuman. That's a ghoul right there.

Mentor Spirit (Shadow / Bat) - The immaterial Shadow is Isabel's mentor spirit, encouraging the spontaneity of an intangible concept. Shadow Weaver cannot bear to remain static, desiring foremost to avoid being nailed down.

Negative

Aged - Getting an awakened disease and living in tunnels for years can prematurely age you.

Distinctive Style - Just because your skin is grey now doesn't mean you have to stop wearing your colour. Isabel doesn't dress as flashy as she used to, but...

Faceless - Don't look at her teeth. Or the scars on her face, but those are probably fixable. Those chompers, though? Yeesh.
