Summary
The mystery J wants a priority target rescued from a compound in the SSC. Additionally the compound should be rendered non functional for a bonus.
Background
The Meet
The team mustered on a street corner in the middle of nowhere. Shortly after arriving a car collected the team and drove them to a 2ndary meet location under cover of a faraday cage and blacked out windows. Once at the new location they were escorted to the J for a conversation. A priority target has been extracted from their care and they want the target returned.
The target, Dan Westcroft, is being held in a compound in the SSC that on the surface is just a farm selling mealworms and other supplies. In reality the compound is the base of operations for a cult of anti vampire extremists. The pay offered, 20000Y. The team accepted and got to work on planning entry to the SSC.
The Plan
Through various smuggling contacts the team arranged for travel to the SSC, additionally Delphi was able to arrange a couple of safe houses as well as a burner vehicle to be waiting on site. While setting this up Iron performed some initial matrix searches on the facility and its "Cult" and Six prepared to try and infiltrate the facility and gather intel.
The Run
Iron examined the matrix security of the facility and discovered that it was all located on a local grid, in order to access the grid more easily the team acquired a retrans drone that would be used to gain access to the grid and provide some initial visual intel. The drone was piloted over the wall and set done while Iron hacked into the local host. While this happened Six approached the front door of the facility and attempted to talk her way in. This attempt only resulted in Six buying far too many meal worms which she had to carry back on her Bike. Her next stop was to brave the recently discovered mine field to gain entry while Iron become frustrated and entered the host's foundation with the goal of destroying the host. He was successful in doing this, but not before the rest of the team was completely ready for an assault. Delphi followed Six astrally and BB set up near the main gate with some explosives and loud guns hoping a distraction would draw attention away from Six's stealth infil.
The host collapsed and Iron nearly followed, badly wounded from the experience. With the base alerted BB began his assault lobbing grenades into the mine field and blowing up the main gate. The local defenders moved to establish a defense line at a bridge half way to the facility. BB approached the bridge and lobbed a massive wad of plastic explosives at it eradicating the bridge, and most of the defenders near it. He engaged and defeated the remaining Elite guard and continued up the road. Further up the road he engaged a rigger controlled Roadmaster armed with an assault cannon. BB and Iron fired at the armored vehicle scratching it, the tank fired back at BB, shells impacting his hardened shell and falling to the ground. BB recognized the apparently stalemate in this fight and disengaged through the woods. With his job completed he exfiltrated to the road.
Mean while Six and Delphi snuck into the facility and dispatched a few remaining guards while attempting to locate the target, eventually finding him in a basement under the guard of two guards and another elite. Six dispatched the three and recovered the target, attempting to fleet further up the mountain to Delphi's waiting van. While climbing, six was attacked by an elite sniper. Hoping to prevent the sniper from firing on Six and the principal, She manifested, appearing as a menacing spirit. This rouse drew the attention of the sniper, who attempted to disperse Delphi, giving Six time to finish the climb and escape.
Aftermath
BB escaped the compound only to find the police establishing a perimeter. He put in a call to Angi, his rigger buddy to have her remotely drive the his escape vehicle, she made short work of the local PD and got him clear and to safe house #1 with the unconscious Iron. They two of them rested and waited for a call from the rest of the team.
Delphi and Six brought the extracted target to safe house #2 and interrogated him. Learning that he was involved in magical research into creating cyberzomibes, financed by the Ordo Maximus. They also learned that he had attempted to leave the order willingly, though his extraction was not exactly willing. Returning him to them didn't sit well with Delphi and she began concocting a plan to coerce Iron into breaking the contact. This wasn't exactly successful but since Iron was currently only awake due to numb, she had some time to stage an escape of the target. If this escape seemed legit than Iron would have no complaints about "setting him free". The J included a good faith effort clause in the job's contract in the event that the target was already dead and not recoverable. Since the team did successfully disrupt the operation the J still grudgingly paid out, but was not happy about it.
