Summary
The runners are hired for a last minute job to break a ganger's crew out of prison. They jump a transport bus on the highway, extracting the boys with minimal mess. The gang's higher ups are extremely unhappy, but that doesn't matter, because friendship is all the guys need.
Background
The Crusher known as Warthog's crew got pinched by Knight Errant for selling illegal firearms. They kept their cool and didn't talk, earning a 5 year prison sentence. This was standard procedure for the gang, but Warthog couldn't stand the thought of spending half a decade away from his boys. He used his own savings to gather a crew, unbeknownst to his superiors, sending the runners to set his lads free.
The Meet
The runners met up in a Touristville parking garage. Between Ephemera's dissonance, Makali'i's stoicism, and Silence's unsecured explosives, the vibes were totally horrendous. To everyone's relief the J showed up, filling the quiet with a screaming Harley engine. Warthog discussed the details of the job, and presented them with a pathetically small briefcase of cash. The run was practically charity work, but the runners agreed on the grounds that the boys needed help.
The Plan
The runners would ambush the prison bus on the highway, stopping it with Silence's explosive charge before extracting the boys. They set up their ambush under an overpass, hiding the explosive under some trash on the road. Ephemera took up a sharpshooter's perch, and the trio prepared to strike.
The Run
Things went wrong right off the bat, with a random KE cop showing up to kick these vagrants out from the overpass. A bit of fast talking bought time for the bus, and as the charge went off Makali'i dropped the cop. A guard who tried to exit the bus was lit up from two different angles, prompting the rest to hunker down until their backup could arive. Makali'i wasn't gonna give them the chance. She caught the door before it closed, wedging it open and giving Ephemera an angle to take out the driver. The rest of the cops were easily dealt with. Due to some timely intervention from Makali'i, none of the cops were killed, and the runners left the rest of the prisoners to free themselves as a distraction. The boys were safe, and the job was done clean.
Aftermath
At first the boys were confused. Then the boys were horrified. By commissioning this run all on his own, Warthog had put the entire crew on the Crush's shit list. Warthog and his lieutenant bickered like a married couple, but eventually resolved to deal with the situation on their own. The runners were paid, sincerely thanked, and sent off to plan their afterparty.
