I will always try to pick characters that wont leave a run.  This is an imperfect system, though, and if you feel your character would leave at a meet, thats your choice.  Leaving after a meet is likely to have consequences. Derailing a run can be serious choice. Id very much prefer this be discussed amongst the team, as it can cross very close, or straight into, pvp conflict.  OOC negotiation is always encouraged and required.

As stated above, I am not against plot twists, especially those made by players. That said I would greatly prefer teams to be on the same page with this decision. Shadow runners are professionals, and part of that means knowing how to operate as a team. If you aren't a team player word is going to get out eventually and that may negatively impact your standing with other Js. Additionally a little bit of a heads up if this is in your plans would be great so I can be thinking of alternatives while you put your plans get put into motion.

==Cause And Effect==
I like to weave some reality into my games to help keep them grounded. I like a good pink mohawk moment as much as the next but we are playing in a dark world, not a cartoon. If you do dangerous things, those dangers are real and the dice are a harsh mistress. Even lower threat runs can end up with a bad soak roll and instant doom, be aware.
My goal is never to kill your characters. I always assume a certain level of world awareness and competence, and will generally err on the side of grace when players make horrible missteps that perhaps their characters would know not to.  However, Shadowrun is often a dark and dangerous setting, where actions have consequences and many entities in fact do wish you harm.  Some measure of risk is part of the story.  I am opposed to 'gotcha' moments, and actively build my runs to avoid threats that arent interactable or detectable.  Surprises and plot twists are great, but only when they make thematic sense.  "The J, who's done nothing to warrant suspicion, now stabs you in the back" isnt fun or interesting. I prefer reveals that leave the players suddenly understanding the trail of bread crumbs, or that are caught onto by a clever character and turned.

General Info

I tend to plan runs around interested parties and actors instead of mechanical proscribed traps and choreographed fights. I welcome player creativity, and though sometimes the mechanics may bar something, it never hurts to ask! I strive to build my runs with many paths to the end, and many opportunities for the player characters to change and affect the outcome. Matrix and techno stuff is still an area of weakness for me, so if it seems like im missing something, I probably am! Feel free to speak up, always.

I like to run connected storylines a lot, so NPC's that survive a run are likely to show up again. Sometimes this is planned, and often it comes a surprise left turn from a character. I like the setting to feel like it exists whether the player is looking at it or not, that the npc's are complete people with lives, goals, desires, etc. At my table, character actions have meaning, and can change even small things that might reverberate through time.

At the end of the day my goal is to create a fun session, and give challenges for yall to progress your characters' stories.

Declining A Run

I will always try to pick characters that wont leave a run. This is an imperfect system, though, and if you feel your character would leave at a meet, thats your choice. Leaving after a meet is likely to have consequences.

Derailing A Run

Derailing a run can be serious choice. Id very much prefer this be discussed amongst the team, as it can cross very close, or straight into, pvp conflict. OOC negotiation is always encouraged and required.

Cause And Effect
