Character Information

Summary

Stryker is a sour and sarcastic elf from Aztlan. His career as a runner started when he ran away from home after being miraculously saved by his father, a top cybersurgeon from Eastern Europe, after almost dying in an explosion at his mother's office in one of Aztechnology's buildings, caused by a team of inexperienced Aztlan runners. Only he survived. After running away from home, Stryker started to get used to life in the streets after living in the high end of Aztlan society for so long. Having already been a college-level athlete, he started working first as a courier for lower-level thugs, making a name for himself in the streets. A series of events led him to become a samurai, ending up in Seattle to look for work as a shadowrunner after working for gangs and minor corporate execs as a bodyguard.

Stryker as mentioned before, tends to be skittish and defensive about his life, paranoid even whenever he feels someone is asking *too* many questions at once. But once you earn his trust he softens, becoming the most loyal man you could ask for, even risking his life if he particularly likes you.

Goals

After being reminded of his true origins in the form of a run involving Aztechnology, Stryker fled Seattle for a year and ended up living in some undisclosed place in Russia. Now he wants out and is looking for a way to permanently burn his Corporate SIN and finally be free.

Background

Stryker was born on the 30th of July, 2058 as Mikhail Zapata Atlacoya to Maria Atlacoya and Mylo Iskorneva. Born as a corporate citizen due to his mother's position at Aztechnology, Mikhail enjoys all the privileges and luxuries of such a comfortable life. Early into this life, Mikhail got interested in sports, becoming a soccer player for his high school team.

Poised to become either a chairman under the apprenticeship of his mother or a soccer star in a prestigious FC, Mikhail had a shining future ahead of him. That until one night while visiting his mother, who had stayed late in her office during her birthday, she was part of the casualties of a Shadowrun gone wrong. The team had arrived at his mother's office, and after an altercation, the Docwagon team was alerted and responded accordingly.

Those were the last moments he had with his mother. The DocWagon team did their best to retrieve them both and resuscitate them, but it was too late for his mother. In his case, he would have nearly been blown to bits if it wasn't for the immediate medical attention that brought him back from clinical death. Now in a coma, his father, an elven surgeon specialized in cyberware, operated on his son for several hours in an effort to bring him back. He succeeded in his endeavor, but at the cost of basically having to heavily augment his son, who now has mostly chrome and little flesh left. The surgery included skin grafts, removal of shrapnel, reconstruction of muscles, suturing, earware, and a thorough reconstruction of his facial features.

Mikhail woke up three days after the surgery to the news that his mother had died during the encounter. Leading him to leave both his father and cushy home as a corporate citizen of Aztechnology. Now living on the road, he headed towards Seattle while working irregularly before the life of the streets found him. First starting on doing street runs for gangs and local slumlords and generally doing errands and courier work. As the years passed, he started to get higher-paying jobs, and with that, he started to train.

11 years have passed since that fateful incident happened, Stryker had been improving and honing his skills to his absolute peak, finding joy in his new life on the streets, fully leaving behind his previous corporate kid life and embracing the shadows as his new home. Or so he thought...

Appearance

Stryker is a tall, mixed Aztlani elf with a long hair that falls down his shoulders. His skin tone seems a lighter shade of a red tan, and his eyes are deep brown, althought clearly agumented in the dark where they lightly glow. He is heavily augmented although it's less obvious were. Up close the seams where his cyberware starts and ends are more notable, but it's clear he spent a good amount of money to wrap his 'ware in a nice layer of synthskin. Despite his cyebrware, he's clearly on the more athletic side with his only natural, flesh limbs being lean and muscular. Personality wise he tends to be sardonic, rude and straight forward. He is also very competitive, always enjoying someone that can talk drek and back it up.

Clothing

During his runs, he uses a white shirt under his armor with a pair of black combat pants and boots, as well as a ballistic mask engraved and painted like a jaguar, a call back to his home of tenochtitlán. During the day, in his persona as Mike he just wears whatever shirt he finds with a pair of jeans and a (Synth)leather jacket he normally wears either when he's riding around town in his motorbike or just walking around.

Character Plot Hooks

Stryker is looking to contact people who could help him and his father erase any relationship they have with Aztechnology, and the Aztlan goverment, including SINs and records. Stryker's father, Mylo, still resides somewhere in the Russian steppes, hoping his son comes back alive.
