Summary

Three runners break into a KE precinct to free a pirate before they realize who she is. Neo-Haven runners raid the place at the same time to free their captured comrade. Many cops are shot.

Background

One of KAPTAIN KILLDOZER's buddies from the Caribbean League has paid him a visit, but has gotten herself stuck in a KE holding cell after getting a little too rowdy out drinking. No SIN means they haven't immediately figured out she's a dangerous pirate with a hefty bounty for plenty of awful crimes, but eventually they'll figure it out. KILLDOZER tasks Red Bonnie with freeing his friend, and she delegates it to the ShadowHaven because frag that drek.

At the same time, a group of Neo-Haven runners are planning on smash-and-grabbing the place to free their own captured teammate.

The Meet

The runners are told to meet Red Bonnie at a pirate-themed dive bar Downtown. Anansi IDs their Johnson as a vampire, and immediately starts flirting while the details of the job are discussed. She explains that her captain's friend is stuck in the drunk tank for the night, and needs to be freed before KE realizes who she is and ships her off to a supermax prison. The team is confident they can handle the job quietly, so agree to do the job after some brief negotiations. Bonnie tells them that their target is locked up in Everett, and sends them on their way.

The Plan

The team spins the block in Angi Harris's cab and scopes out the joint. This particular precinct is having funding issues, thanks to Everett's continuous downward spiral, and lucky for the team doesn't seem to have a mage on site. Unfortunately for the team, KE did still have an off-site mage visit to set up wards. They go back and forth on whether or not they wanna take a social infil route, then decide the best plan of action would be to layer Exodus in Concealment and Improved Invisibility and send her in to bust their target out. Anansi sends Angi away, and the team gets some of their own vehicles in position for their escape.

The Run

Anansi slaps a Gecko Crawl on Exodus and she scrambles up the wall and down to the backdoor. Exodus deals with the maglock and sneaks inside (one of Anansi's spirit helps sleaze her through the ward), and sees a pair of more heavily armed KE officers guarding a particularly belligerent prisoner, shouting about how he should've taken more of them down. She also sees the target throwing up in her own sell, very fucked up on hurlg. One of the guards goes into the loud asshole's cell and starts beating on him, but the other keeps watching the hall. Exodus sneaks up and starts disabling the lock on the target's cell, but Anansi and Stryker see an armored up Bulldog hauling ass towards the precinct.

It crashes into the front door, gets stuck on the pop-up security bollards, and a gaggle of Neo-Haven runners climb out the broken windshield and start blasting. Security shutters slam down over the exits, trapping Exodus in the building. One of the guards near the holding cells investigates the ruckus, but the other stays to make sure no one escapes. Stryker scurries over and blasts the back door back open with a grenade, then joins the fray. The armored cop puts up a solid fight, a beat cop runs in to provide back up, and Stryker massively underestimates his own strength and punches clean through her chest.

Exodus opens the cell door while the cops are distracted with Styker and the other runners, convinces their target to calm down and let them save her despite Exodus being invisible and the drunk assuming she's a ghost. More cops try to stop Stryker, the Neo-Haven runners take down several cops themselves but one is knocked out in the firefight, and the Neo-Haven troll Smashing Blows his way through his comrade's cell. He sees Stryker, is very confused, and asks him "Who the fuck are you?" Stryker responses with his runner name instinctually, not thinking about all of the cameras and cops around him.

Having secured their respective targets, Exodus and Stryker beat feet outside and scramble back up the building and to their vehicles while the Neo-Haven decker disables the bollards pinning their van in place. The team flees from the area and lays low while the heat dies down, but the Neo-Haven runners' busted van is no match for the HTR VTOL that flies in to hunt them down and they are all quickly captured.

Once the coast is clear, the team meets Bonnie at one of her gang's hideouts and drops off their drunken sailor, get paid, and put this terrible night behind them.

Aftermath

The rescued pirate returns home to Jamaica as soon as she can, swearing off the cold awful place that is Seattle forever. The four Neo-Haven runners get locked up for the murder of several cops and likely never see the sun again. Stryker is assumed to be an escaped member of the Neo-Haven crew, and even if he isn't he still punched the heart out of one Officer Chauncey, and so they are on high alert for him and have put out a bounty for his capture. Stryker was in FBA the whole time, so they have limited information besides his name, gear, voice, and build.
